Apparently only 3 boxers are a box office draw in America

It is a sad state of affairs in boxing if guys can't consistently draw 10,000 to their fights in their own hometown. Even sadder is that while Devon Alexander really isn't a draw, ****ing Peter Manfredo can pack an arena in New England fighting nobodies.

 

The thing is it takes a long time to really make a superstar. Mayweather, Pac-man and Cotto have all had there fights televised on HBO, pretty much all three are regulars on that network. And if one were to lose a fight by KO then they could be replaced, and so on.

Plus dont forget Shane Mosley, he still has some strong name value, maybe not as big as the big 3 but still good, dont forget he beat Cotto not too long ago.

And for a rising star look at Ward, Berto and Williams, I think one of them well become a big ppv draw.

Cunnigham is more received in Germany than the US

For whatever reason probably too many to count boxing in america is not doing well

 

most mexicans and puertorrican champions are big draws.. calderon always fight to a full house when he fights in PR.. in the US i dont know how he does but all his cards back home are sold out
