Just seems like a few calls made back and forth. Arum once again has done a number on the public, and this is coming from a pro Pac wrtier.

I want to hear Floyd's take on what happened during these "negotiations", and how much he knew about it.

To quote the "Examiner" is pure folly to start with. To say there were no formal negotiations is absurd. HBO worked very hard to make this fight happen and asked that it be done through them because they thought they could make it happen. This is like saying HBO has no stake in boxing. Really very lame attempt at a justification here.

Well Im not really defending either side, just found that article interesting. Marley has long been a pro Pac guy, and it looks like he is calling Arum out for lying to the extent of negotiations. An interview with HBO's Ross Greenburg would be the most realistic account of the whole deal since he supposedly brokered it.

OK. Just so the *****s don't just jump in and praise this as gospel let's put up the following line from the article:
"Mayweather, having fought in May and earned perhaps $12 million or thereabouts, is in vacation mode and is content to not fight for the remainder of 2010."

Isn't that a tad short of the $40 they are claiming? :D

Good point. I'd be very interested in hearing what Greenberg thinks.

Mayweather could have said, wtf is this nonsense but instead he says I'm going fishing, bye.

Mayweather was guaranteed a purse of at least 20million this is a fact. 12 million is what he made extra if anything.

OK folks. The $40 reference was in regards to the articles integrity. This shouldn't be hard to follow. It is stated in that context.

Hell I could have guessed this was a publicity stunt. Why the hell else would you put a "deadline" on it? Thats stupid.

WFT? No, it is business. Pac can't wait forever for Floyd to make up his mind. The deadline was forced on Arum by HBO to give them time to try and make the fight. At some point they have to move on. EVERY fight has a deadline, stated or not.
