145 isn't gonna drain Cotto, he usually comes in around 146. If Pac beats Cotto (ha ha), he'll get full props from me as I feel Cotto will be 100%. However, I don't want to hear you die hard Pac fans make excuses that it was the size or because he didn't train right.

If Cotto beats the **** out of Pacquiao then kudos to Cotto. He deserves it.

pac is always in shape even out of season. while he has not started full blown training, he keeps fit by playing bastketball.

second, he is just targetting 145 unlike the hatton fight wherein he had to go below 138. what is the significance. well, he can concentrate on fitness and strategy during training rather than losing weight.

pac probably walks around 150 at most. i saw him upclose outside of training and he actually looks skinny. he is not hatton who balloons to as high as 170 range when not training.

so from 150 to 145, that can be done in a week comfortably. in the next 6 weeks, he will be working on stamina, strategy, strength training and punch resistance.

training, weight loss, vices, personal problems, etc... all part of the game. No excuses are valid leading to the fight, unless agreed by vast majority and both camps.

Cotto deserves as much credit as Mayweather will get.

I know this is how they've scheduled it - but the schedule is flawed. Unless they feel comfortable with a solid 6-7 weeks. If they do, then we'll see what happens. Roach is doing a little backpedaling; first he was crying about how they're pushing training to far out, now he's saying everything is on schedule - somebody must have had a long talk with him.

8 weeks, 6.5 weeks - who cares. It's plenty of time for a world class, experienced athlete like Pacquiao to prepare. Ain't gonna make a difference.

How much time is dedicated to losing weight for fighters who need cut around 10 lbs anyway?

At first I was worried, then I started thinking maybe he doesn't need the whole 8 weeks if he doesn't need to cut much weight. But I'm no expert...

All Roach has been doing is complaining. Now he's saying he'll do his best to get Pac prepared.
