burns would smash him now but whats weight will arthur b fighting at now? i know he used struggle to get down to superfeather he could surely do LW if he got offerd a fight he could sink his teeth into!
I like how he says that he doesn't want to become an undercard fighter. Isn't that what he always was? Anyways...... not wishing to go over old ground, but how can you call yourself a world champion when you've never won a world title fight? Plus..... if he thinks he is getting anywhere he is mistaken - Nigel Wright is the ultimate domestic gatekeeper, having not seen the fight I cannot really comment but if it was anything like close the nod would have gone to Arthur. All that time draining himself to make 130 affected him.... he was only Euro level anyway, I'd be surprised if he fought for the British title at lightweight, even more so if he won.
Arthur has been campaigning at European and world level for the last few years. Wullie Limond hasn't beaten anyone worth of a British Title shot since he outpointed O'hara 5 years ago. Arthur wouldn't have been on Arthur's radar until now anyway since they've been at different weights since years so why would Limond have been given the chance?
Like Arthur or not, he was frustrating to watch. Lazy performances, straining for the weight, losing to Cook... a guy who's eminently beatable. Silly, really.
think he should fight at a weight hes comfortable at n see what he can do it would b a mountain to climb 4 him tho!
I can see me getting ripped for this.....................but, I think he should talk to Gilmour. Like him or not, he will get him the TV exposure that he has lacked, I don't reckon Maloney will, he's got too many other younger fighters looking for exposure. Gilmour could get him on Matchroom bills all over the country, probably Prizefighter if he wanted it...........That said, I don't reckon that Arthur would consider talking to Gilmour. Hatton's probably.
Aye your right mate, Gilmour has links in with Matchroom and so Sky is always an option, never say never, although I think AA is pretty much finished.
i read today in the paper hes going to be having a chat with ricky hatton about hooking up with hatton promotions but the main story was about his role in an upcoming film as shug the thug http://edinburghnews.scotsman.com/topstories/Boxer-Alex-Arthur-aiming-to.6122925.jp
I can see why he would go to the Hattons but my worry with them is how long can their Sky deal last? So far they have not given a great main event. I'll accept that the first was surprising to be a one round blow out, but other than that they have given us some rather dull fights and the last was a ridiculous mis-match
im telling you new is Arthur entered Prizefighter he would not win it. has been fighting at champonship level for to long now
how do people think Appleby will do under Warren? He has another top prospect at featherweight in Stephen Smith.
Frank Warren already has the best featherweight in europe in John Simpson,Nothing to fear from Appleby,John will stop him if Appleby gets back to championship level after the lindsay fight.
