Appleby on points or late KO

The fight against Simpson was a tougher match up for Paul imo.

Lindsay is a decent domestic fighter and its good to see these fights being made because its all gonna benefit Paul in the future having such a decent pedigree.

Its a shame the fraudsters like Khan cant take a leaf out of these guys books and face some of the decent fighters from his own shores. (mind you, that would bring another defeat and the end of a cash cow)

Appleby in explosive KO round 4.

The kid is still very young, and will have improved for this fight. Lindsay looked below mediocre versus Derry.

I think this is an excellent 50-50 affair.

Linsday was decked and outboxed by Mathews throughout the fight, before coming back superbly to register a KO win.

Appleby went life and death (pretty much) with an underrated John Simpson.

I am genuinely surprised that this fight is happening, because it is so rare that two young undefeated guys get pitted against each other, such is the importance (seemingly) of retaining the 0 in this country.

Appleby looked frustrated against a wily vet against Pickering, but still did more than enough to win - I would edge slightly in his favour but not by much.

It wouldn't be the end for either fighter though - but I would like them both to get undercard experience in the US as well.

Perhaps so - we need to reduce the importance of the 0 in the UK.

Lindsay UD. I think that Martin will register a fairly easy win. It could be worse for Appleby if he doesn't tidy up his raggedy defence when coming in two handed, he also seems to lose all idea of defence when he starts to gas going down the stretch. I don't get all the hype for Appleby, he's a decent little pro but I think he would struggle at Euro level.
