Alright, Mercito Gesta called out Broner. And from what Broner said, Gesta and a nobody, unimpressive, unexciting etc. Okay, got it.

Now, we have a guy like Guillermo Rigondeaux who calls out Donaire (Donaire hardly acknowledges Rigo and says the fight might not inspire the viewing public as a fight with Rigo might be boring) and we have people here who claims Donaire is "avoiding" the Cuban. That is their logic.

Now, let's took that logic into the former scenario and we end up with a conclusion that Broner is just plain terrified with Gesta's ability and will probably run away from facing the Filipino until he can.

Weird double standards if you ask me. So which is it? Donaire and Broner are ducking the men who called them out or they are just both cowering away?

Gesta who I barely have heard of and checking his boxrec, I don't recognize a name on his record. Now that might be my ignorance of that particular fighters record, but I'm inclined to believe he's beaten nobody close to the level of a top 135lbs fighter. So if Broner blows him off, I can't blame him. He beats him it serves him no more than beating Rodriguez did for the 130 belt, if not less since he's a legit world beater at this point in his career.

Now, the same cannot be said for Rigondeaux. He's a very legit opponent and against anybody lesser than him he dominated. Add in the Olympic Golds and wins over Ramos and Corodoba and he's made his case as a top fighter at his weight class. Now from a dollars and cents POV this fight isn't high profile and won't have people flying in from around the world to see. But guess what, neither was the fight Donaire had against Mathebula. So what would be his reason for avoiding a guy within the promotion with the same draw as Mathebula and much more credibility as a top Super Bantamweight? Until this fight gets shot down via no channel picking it up I don't find Donaire's excuses exactly jiving.
