I picked Floyd by wide UD but I'm thinking in the 8-4 range.

    I wouldn't consider that a "narrow" victory.

Man you are a broken record.

Manny doesn't have the body work? Did you see the Clottey fight?

Unless I see something about Mayweather that I find is different (for the worse) in the Mosley fight, my pick is Mayweather. Possibly by stoppage.

Pac doesn't have a body attack, he's a head hunter the only reason why he went to Clottey's body is because it was there, Clottey applied a high guard which he stayed in for the whole fight and Pac had no other choice but to attack his body. One fight doesn't make you a great body puncher it's your body of work.:deal

My favorite fighter is Manny and I was about to pick him on points or maybe late stoppage, but I tried to be objective and I think May boxes and potshots and wins n points (narrow) and it wasn't fun to type that. I think for Manny to win, hed have to do some stuff out of character: foul, be alittle dirty, smother in the counters, clinch and torque arms, use elbows, etc. (or as b-hop nuthuggers like to call it: be a savvy veteran...just playing)

    1. If manny never learned from his two JMM fights, Floyd wins a wide UD.

    2. If manny can negate floyd's shoulder roll and timing, manny would definitely KTFO floyd. but if floyd negates pac's footwork, floyd's zero will be retained.

    3. It all lies to Freddie Roach's gameplan.

Good post. I rate the attempt at objectivity. A few times I've thought Pac could well do it (and he could) but whenever I try and balance it up, I always end up with a slight Floyd points win.

    Interesting point to ponder.

When Roach was in Oscar's corner against Mayweather, I think he had it right with his instructions in using jab and pressure. The only problem was that Dela Hoya was not the same Dela Hoya and it showed. He tired during the fight and was not able to sustain that pressure to be effective.

Pacquaio is a different study. After that JMM II fight, he had shown superb ability to follow Roach's plan to a T, (only exception was against Cotto IMO) and he has the physical ability to put it into action. But, Pacquaio can deviate from the game plan, as proven in the Cotto fight.

The question is, if he gets frustrated by Mayweather's defense and elusiveness, what will he do? Will he go gung-ho and abandon the plan, or will he stick to it and forget machismo?

As for seeing how the fight will end up, I lean on a close Mayweather win based on style. With Mayweather sticking to his reliable defense and scoring based on efficiency. Standard Mayweather boxing his way to a safe victory.

Pacquaio has a good chance, but Roach's plan will be very critical here. If he can drive Pacquaio's energy to a productive and effective offense, and let him not lose focus, he can really win it. On a Pac victory, I see similarity with Calzaghe over Hopkins, winning based on work rate and aggressiveness.

Right now I have floyd to knock PAc out in 11. Pac can't outbox Floyd so he will have to go after Floyd which is right up Floyd's alley. Pac has beaten some bigger guys, but the were one armed fighters. Dlh, cotto, Hatton and Clottey were all left hookers with NO right hand. Floyd can punch with either hand, he has a great jab, speed, a straight right, a left hook, a looping right hand, a chin, and footwork. I just don't see how Pac can beat Floyd. JMM gave PAc hell, and Floyd is levels above JMM in terms of boxing skills. Floyd ko in 11.

Floyd is gonna prove a point and he's gonna knock him out...

I dont think Chicken Manny has a chance to begin with to be honest...

Floyd is gonna wanna **** off the haters..and he's gonna do what most people [/idiots] will think he cant do..and that is either stop or knock pacroid out..

Pacquiao went to Clottey's body better then Cotto did, or any fighter for that matter.

The body work he showed in that fight rivals anything in boxing right now.

He also showed good body work in the Cotto and DLH fights.

You don't think part of Manny's gameplan might be to go to Floyd's body in the fight? Get real man.
