Arce not interested in Vasquez Rematch, wants Donaire

    The outlook for a rematch between WBO super bantamweight champion Jorge ‘Travieso’ Arce and and former champ Wilfredo ‘Papito’ Vazquez looks uncertain because the Mexican star has shown interest in going down to 118 pounds and looking for the WBC crown held by the Filipino Nonito Donaire, who is also WBO ruler in that division. According to reports, Donaire, who was in danger of being stripped of his WBC crown, decided to make a defense in October and Arce is one of three potential candidates. The WBO is not opposed to Arce going down to 118 pounds. On the other hand, the Sport Press learned that the Top Rank is interested in staging Arce-Vazquez II on December 3 when Miguel Cotto defends will present his junior middleweight title by the WBA to Antonio Margarito in New York. The promotional tour for that fight will begin in September 19 in Puerto Rico and then continue in New York, Mexico and Los Angeles.

    According to this write up it sounds like Arce doesn't want the rematch with Vazquez, not the other way around !

    awesome news:happy:happy been wanting to see donaire-arce get it on for a while. I hope they can make this fight happen asap. Donaire-arce would be awesome on pac-marquez undercard.

    Arce a Bad ass... Donaire is a beast though, it would be a great fight. I am sure BOB would like it...

    Donaire Arce on Pacquiao Undercard would be amazing as donaire was bitching he wasn't being put on Pac cards, and maybe his new relationship with Arum they can work it out...

    But I would prefer Donaire fight MAres the likely tourney winner, or Vic

    I wanna see donaire fight on pac's undercard so a fight with the tournament winner would be out of the question. he already KTFO vic so i lilke to see him fight arce next.

    Donaire is too slick for arce. Donaire will pick apart arce enroute to a TKO win:deal Darchinyan whoop arce's ass, donaire would do the same.

    :good I completely agree. Arce is awesome to watch, but Donaire destroys him.

    Donaire has been chasing Arce for years. Donaire was asked back in 2007 after his win over darchinyan if he can have his choice of who he would want to fight next. out of all the answers

    darchinyan rematch -biggest money fight
    mijares - the man of the division
    wongjongkam - hof name on his resume and unification

    he said Arce. Donaire by seizure tko 2.
