Arce might KO vic.....But we all sure know that Vic cant KO Arce.........With all the **** talk of what's he's going to do with Arce, but didn't happen.....I was expecting it but Vic didn't deliver his promise....disappointed!!!
Maybe he couldn't KO him before the officials mercifully decided to stop it, but he did manage to put Arce in hospital just like Burgos. The guy ended up being carried off into an ambulance an hour after the fight and driven off to hospital!!! Arce was "too tough" for his own good, again, just like Burgos. Let's hope he is ok and doesn't have to have brain surgery to remove a clot too! All that aside, if it wasn't stopped, do you honestly think Arce would have survived the 12th?
It's a well-known fact that Arce is past it, but what you might have missed somehow is Vic stunning Arce in the very first round, just like he did it vs. Mijares, just here there was no knockdown. These are monsterous shots and no one is 100% after taking them - and Arce still fought back bravely. I don't think a shot fighter could take the same punishment and still win the 3rd, being competitive up to the 6th. Darchinyan broke down a past-his-prime Arce, but he clearly wasn't shot. Vic is THAT physical and that better on skill level.
If anyone thinks Arce was even close to his prime has never seen Arce When He was at Light Flyweight or when he first started at Flyweight. Arce could box and was pretty fast back then.
I have been hardcore Arce fan for years, and you are 100% correct. I also could see "Oh ****" with in the first round. That was not the Arce I have watched and enjoyed all these times. BUT, ALL credit to Vic! Dude has made massive improvements in his game and he is now looking like a BEAST. Congratulations to Vic. Now....who nex? for him I wonder?
I have to agree, the fight was dissapointing. This was the first time I saw either of these fighters in action but the way people were talking about it, you would think it would be a Marquez/Vazquez type war. I wasn't impressed. There were brief moments when it was a slugfest but mostly it was ugly and dull. Way too much clinching, the fight didn't flow very well, Arce was throwing wild punches that weren't landing and this was followed by a clinch almost everytime, Vic was posing half the time. There's something very frustrating and ugly about Vic's style, not very pleasing on the eyes. For all his big talk, there was little entertainment on offer from Vic, it was Arce who tried to turn it into the war that was promised but it takes two to tango and Darchiniyan didn't want any of it. Maybe my expectations were a little high for this one but I still think it was a fight to forget. Definetly not a fight that converts someone into a boxing fan.
It was a boxing clinic from Darchinyan. From round 1 and up, Vic overpowered Arce. Not on power alone either, Vic used his footwork very well avoiding shots
Sir, if you like, search my posts from yesterday, before the fight. I'm no Holy Man but I was praying for Arce to not get killed and he's been one of my top 5 faves for years. As others have mentioned he looked terrible last couple fights, and I knew he was in deep **** last night before he ever got hit. Congrats to Vic, all the glory, that man has made BIG improvements and deserves to be recognized.
You mean those ones where Arce put his head down and threw some type of looping **** over his head, almost falling on his face? Those prolly were tough to avoid.
Good man. During the fight, I was concerned of his health too. Unfortunately Arce still needed to go to the hospital. I hope he'll get better. This little warrior, who deserves all the respect in the world, was just too brave in there and took an insane amount of unnecessary punishment. I just hope he'll be the same after Saturday and will enjoy his life in retirement.
You sir, are 100% correct as well. Your post illustrates exactly why (even though I'm not even sure how to do it right) I was PRAYING for Arce before the first bell last night. Arce is one of those "TOO TOUGH FOR HIS OWN GOOD" type warriors. I knew in his mind Vic would have to KILL him to get him out of there. I was scared for Arce, I have loved to watch him for ever now, and esp. once the first bell rang and I saw his legs, I knew he was toast.
**** ending lastnight to a decent scrap, i will say one thing arce has a chin n half on him. Dont like the fact it went down as a TKO,when in fact it was a cut stoppage ,it was nothing like a technical knockout and imo should never have counted as a TKO,arce was never TKO'D
