Saw an article over at the scene that if Arce gets past Prado, he's going to get a title shot at the vacant WBO featherweight title against Salido. Salido won his last fight against Cruz so it makes sense. Arum is probably going to do winner of Arce-Salido fights winner of Donaire-Walters. Walters is holder of the WBA featherweight title. So winner of those two fights will then go for the two belts in the next fight. There's also talk of Arce-Donaire for the vacant WBO featherweight title but Arce wants to fight Salido instead.

Salido won the vacant title in his last fight and I thought the WBO named Russell Jr his mandatory? He has an optional defense though and there were talks of Arum matching him with Lomachenko.

    For the vacant title?
I guess that part of the info must be wrong. Makes me wonder about the rest.

    X 2

I did see an article where Arce calls for a Salido title fight.

Far from even the "rumor" stage there...

Cool fight for Salido to get a title defense in before they feed him to Loma.
(Not that I don't believe in "Siri" just ack that he is waaaay past it)

I know this is a long shot, but it will be very funny if Salido digs deep and some how goes 3-0 in his next 3 fights

Arce is going to get KTFO in a blink the exact same way Castillo did, ironically, at the hands of Arce himself.

You take a faded, slowed-down come-forward Mexican scrapper with no 'plan B' and throw him in with one who is younger and has more ferocity left and thunder in their fists, it's going to be over in a hurry. (also throw in that Salido enjoys a massive size advantage over Arce despite having the same height and reach that Castillo did; Salido is a career feather/super feather while both El Gallo and El Travieso migrated up from the flyweight range)

Their respective showings with Donaire and Cruz showed the gulf between what Arce has left and what Salido does. Savage mismatch at this point. (and may have always been; Arce is just too small)

1- The title isnt vacant Salido won it by beating Cruz
2-Russell Jr is the mandatory but Salido still has time to fight someone else before he has to oblige his mandatory.
3- I'm almost 100% certain that Salido will fight Lomachenko next, it was no coincidence that they fought in the same card, that both posed together for the cameras with belt in the middle almost confirming that they would fight each other next, then its also what everybody involved wants, Salido wants it,Lomachenko wants it and Arum wants it.
4- Arce is nothing more than cannon fodder he will be fed to either Walters, Loma assuming he wins or maybe even Donaire again, He should have stayed retired he came back to earn some bucks but i dont know if the money he will get would be worth the beatings he will take.

He won't really even have time. It will be over in two minutes, tops. So at least there is that small mercy that it won't be a prolonged beating. It will, however, be a brutal KOOTY contender.

    What a ****ing mismatch.

Arce won't see the 4th round, at the most. If he isn't brutally KO'd he will be up and down like a yoyo.

Why not match-up WVII against Saldio & give him the chance to beat-up all the PR's of his era.??
