thank you Graham Houston fightwriter archives... **Archak is undertrained and had plenty of time for this one (I think). **He had Mora ON THE FLOOR. **He was puking when fighting Lorenzo Giovanni and was going even with him before getting sick. **He had Angulo ROCKED even though he lost in the first round. Extensive amateur background **Extensive amateur background and tons of pro experience now **fought well in brutal war with Jose Luis Cruz on FIVE DAYS NOTICE **less reach but taller than Martinez **what has Martinez done to deserve 8 to 1 odds? Knocked out by Margarito. Record loaded with boxers with losing records or fourth tier fighters. Biggest victory? Saul Roman??? **I admit I don't know jack about Martinez but BY HOOK OR BY CROOK I will score a big upset. **Hey did I mention that Archak ROCKED Angulo??? ** Look at Martinez's record! THERE IS NOTHING THERE!!! 33 years old. **OK I am typing all this because I am getting amped about my bet. Damn it. Straight Wager 06/07/08 05:23 ET bet 100.00 to win 800.00 Result: Pending Light Middleweight Fight - Uncasville CT Sergio Gabriel Martinez Archak TerMeliksetian 06/07/08(19:00 ET) Archak TerMeliksetian +800
He goes to brutal war though too pressing the action insanely. And Angulo is a very big puncher. just sayin hell its 8 to 1 I like the pay off vs the risk
Martinez has come on a ton since Margo. He absolutely destroyed Richard Williams and I'm surprised he hasn't gone on to make bigger waves. He is in the "who needs him" club.
I only, dangeorusly, went by boxrec on Martinez I don't think anything about him except for what I saw on there, which wasn't earth shaking. So your saying the odds should be even longer?
So I have heard, but even if you can't get a big fight, you can still fight guys with winning records on a consistent basis. He is also in the "what the hell?" club.
Well I have only seen Archak v Angulo and never seen Martinez. But here is what Graham Houston (the American editor of Boxing Monthly thinks) Sergio Martinez is a skilled, fast southpaw and should be a fairly clear winner over TerMeliksetian, could even stop him although points is probably more likely. He has improved greatly since the Margarito loss. Although Margarito wore him down and overpowered him, and Martinez was dropped twice in his first fight with Richard Williams he came back to win of course and had an easier time in the rematch with Williams.
Archak when he steps up, he goes down.... So I don't see Archak winning at all.... As long as Martinez doesn't look past him... Cause MArtinez is on the verge of fightin the winner of Forrest/Mora....
Spoiler.................... ...................................... ............................................... .......................................................... Madrid, Spain's Sergio Martinez added another win to his already impressive record (43-1-1, 23 KOs) as he knocked down Archak "Shark Attack" TerMeliksetian (16-7, 13 KOs) three times to score a seventh round TKO when referee Danny Chiavonne had seen enough. Both fighters connected with several power punches however it was Martinez that was more effective with his right hook. It was that same right that staggered TerMeliksetian into the ropes for the third knockdown causing the stoppage. With the victory, Martinez is now the #1 contender in the WBC in the 154 pound division.
