Archie Moore has underrated One Punch knockout power.

I often hear him referred to as a "accumulative" puncher, lacking top one punch power. I think that's hogwash. His straight right hand is as hard as anything out there.

0:44. Since I first watched Archie Moore I admired that kind of counter right hand that he used so stylishly.

The counter right hand really did the job on Olson, though the follow-up left hooks certainly did not give him any help.

You could argue that Moore took Olson's "chin" in this fight. Olson, until this point known for his toughness, never once got up from the canvas after this fight.

Olson's plans of beating Archie Moore and Rocky Marciano to capture the light heavyweight and heavyweight titles seem delusional on hindsight, but at the time his claims were taken seriously after he had handed out a beating to Joey Maxim.

To me this fight seriously affects Olson's all time standing. As mentioned in the video, Olson was something of a natural light heavyweight and the way Moore demolished him speaks volumes in my opinion. Its not that the loss discredits him as a great fighters, but it seriously throws his chances against the greatest fighters at 160-175 in jeopardy.

Archie was so physically big and massive for a lightheavy. Very impressive.

Amazingly Archie Moore weighed in at 196 pounds against Nino Valdes, in fighting condition, just a month before this bout. He cut down from over 200 lbs to make the 175 lb light heavyweight limit.

I rate Moore the #8 fighter of all time. Apart from his obvious skills, he came back from so many severe beatings, fought the best of the best, won and kept a championship into a late age, and fluctuated in weight like no other. He might fight one month at 200, the next at 175, and then the next at 200 again. He was near enough a real life miracle worker.

Embrell Davidson. Ted Lowry stated that Moore, not Marciano, was the hardest puncher he ever fought.

His Biceps measurement is listed in two tale-of-the-tape measurements as 16 and a half inches - thats bigger the Tyson's and Holyfields for instance and half and inch less than Lennox Lewis' - remarkable really - I read somewhere that he would do handstands against the wall in the gym use the wall to balance his feet against and do pushups (of his whole bodyweight!!) from that position!! scary power and strength :nut
