He was a great puncher, fantastic stamina, tremendous heart and courage as well as ring smarts. At lightheavy i would say that he is possibly the greatest ever.

    1)Hank Armstrong
    2)Sugar Ray Robinson
    3)Harry Greb
    4)Benny Leonard
    5)Willie Pep
    6)Roberto Duran
    7)Ezzard Charles
    8)Archie Moore:good
    9)Sugar Ray Leonard
    10)Pernell Whitaker

He was a great fighter. Great technician who could crack and break a guy down when he had to or counterpunch guys sluggers. Second greatest lightheavy ever behind Charles who dominated the same era but didnt get a title shot. Guy just had his number but other than that Moore belongs among the top 10. he was lightheavyweight champ a decade and beat the best from middleweight to heavyweight.

Top 15 locked, and sealed. Maybe even top 10, he certainly makes a case.

I'm more taken back by it being such a consenus. I agree he belongs so highly, just that everyone agrees without a hiccup...
