Moore starred in the Movie "Huckleberry Finn" in the early 1960's and did a great job with very little acting training.

Thanks for posting, Vic! I'll watch soon. It's not often somebody posts a thread that nearly matches my avatar.

It doesn't seem very likely, does it? I still marvel a little bit at the condition Foreman is in when I think of his peers at the moment. Those are some powerful genes. I think he's a good candidate to be in good shape like Archie in his eighties too.

Thank you for the very interesting interview.

As for Curtis Sheppard--I remain slightly skeptical of these "he hit harder than anyone statements." Other than Marciano, mentioned by the interviewer, Moore did not bring up men who ko'd him, like Charles and Patterson, nor Len Marshall, who stopped him in one. Instead Moore mentions a man who failed to knock him out in two tries. Well, he certainly was the one who was hit, but one wonders how much the normal human failing of ego has to do with which opponent is picked as the hardest puncher.

I agree with you for the most part. But there are many accounts of the murderous power that Curtis Sheppard carried. He did what no one else could do when he stopped Joey Maxim.

I read somewhere that Sheppard was a dangerous guy outside of the ring.....a gangster or something like that.....this is true, Surf ?

Not sure about him being a "gangster", but he did do a long stretch in an Illinois state Penitentiary. I'm still researching him (he's tough to track). I'll let y'all know what I exhume.

I thought it was really interesting what he said about Billy Conn and Tyson.
