What Hopkins does best is create angles for unexpected punches. Depsite the fact that he isn't that quick or powerful, he can hurt his man by creating chances for himself that wouldn't exsist for your average fighter.

But Moore is better at all of these things. This is what he is the absolute master off. This is what made him the greatest KO artist in history by numbers. In addition Hopkins is one of the greatest at MW, but Archie is top 5 at LHW so at this weight there is only one winner.

Interestingly the MW that beat Johnson v the MW that lost to Burley is close to 50.50

Moore in his prime was a Top 5 Lt Heavy who carried enough power to put The Rock down.

Hopkins really has very little experience at Lt. Heavy.

    Moore by Decsion.

While Hopkins is a legend in his own right, he has only four light heavyweight fights, three of them against lighter-division fighters who were stepping up for the first time. Moore was probably the most accomplished light heavyweight in the history of the sport. Moore was a naturally bigger man, far more experienced at the weight, and was just as skilled as Hopkins and much more powerful. I like Moore by UD, with an outside chance at a late stoppage.

So you think... with Hopkins chin, combined with his DEFENCE... that Moore is going to put his lights out?

There were other fighters who took archie the distance who i doubt were close to as crafty and savy as Hopkins (combine that with his chin, and Hopkins imo is close to unstoppable by fighters 175 and down).... lets please have some perspective here. Roy Jones couldnt hurt Hopkins but Moore is going to put his LIGHTS OUT?

There is no point in bumping this thread since the poll closed way back in april and no one else can vote. I belt after the pavlik fight hopkins would get a lot more votes but it wouldn't be shown in this thread.

    Kirk.

Roy Jones does not hit as hard as Archie MOORE.

Because Jones could not KO Hopkins does not mean Archie could not.

It is not as if Jones tried.

Mercado dropped Hopkins twice in thier fight, i guess Mercado hits harder than Roy.

Yeah to be fair though that was the only time in hopkins career he was ever dropped and it may have had a lot to do with the 10,000 feet elevation in Ecuadar and bhop only arriving a day or two prior to the fight. I've seen nearly all of hopkins fights and that's the only time I've seen him like that. I kinda write that fight off as nard not adjusting well to the elevation, I mean hopkins destroyed him in the rematch.

Hopkins has great defense, very underrated and hardly ever gets hit flush, but the man has an iron chin.
