Prime for prime I’d favour Moore, a lot better technically, more tricks up his sleeve, the bigger/stronger man as well contrary to popular belief, and also had power of his own, he could set up attacks with upper body movement, threw sophisticated combinations, could box or pressure, could counter. It’s hard to pinpoint Moore’s prime, it was probably before or maybe when he won the World title, but whenever you think both of their primes was Who wins this matchup?
I originally thought Foster. Due to his slightly better power and superior hand speed, with that perfect left hook; I thought he'd probably catch Moore. But I thought that about Joshua and Dubois. Moore's chin takes it imo.
Moore deserves the benefit of the doubt, if nothing else. From what footage is available of Moore, I'd say he displayed his best form over this stretch: This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected After that, I think his age & the effort to make 175 became increasingly evident in his performances.
I agree Moore wins but I continue to assert that I think Foster has never won a hypothetical fight against anyone. Never seen a great fighter so routinely picked against.
That's what happens when you loose very badly against the two biggest names in the sport. Spinks, even with the Tyson debacle ruled over a better division and had a big standout win. Foster doesn't have that luxury.
Saad is the first that comes to mind. Really anyone who his height reach and power pose a threat to. It's hard to say who he beats and who he doesn't since he dominated the division and had no other big names to fight. But since he got blown out north of 175 he doesn't get the 'untouchable' status other long reigning untested champions get.
I'd probably favor Foster H2H vs. just about any LHW outside the top 5 (Charles, Moore, Langford, Tunney, Spinks IMO).
