Archie Moore vs Bob Foster

Helluva match up but I think Bob finds the range and ends things after a few rough rounds.

 

i think Foster is a tough stylistic match up for Moore even though Moore is the greater fighter. Moore trying to get close to Foster is risky and i think Bob nails him and finishes him off with a big left hook.

 

What a fight.

Temptation is to go with taller Foster to catch Moore coming in.

Archie is such a crafty fighter, he did fight and beat tall (though slower) heavyweights like Nino Valdes and Alejandro Lavorante.

Wouldn´t be surprised to see Moore stopped early but if he could survive Fosters bombs (Mauro Mina got off the floor to win) I could see

Moore take over in the mid-rounds to take a decision or late round stoppage.

Love Foster´s style and his attitude but fought in a time of average fighters compared to the fifties and mid-seventies to eighties.

Tiger was a short middleweight (terrific ko) and the best challengers were Rondon, Quarry and Finnegan.

Moore´s competition is on another level and let´s not forget how much better he was at heavyweight.

 

Foster is a lot like RJJ at middleweight. Just looked about unbeatable albeit fighting average fighters. But a 6'3 light heavyweight with a machine gun of a jab, a hard right hand and a nuclear left hook combined with fast hands , its just hard to see too many people beating him.

 

I see Moore taking it. Moore was the master but I wouldn’t be surprised if Foster stopped him.

 

I like Archie Moore to win by KO. But I know that Foster would be a very dangerous and worthy proposition

 

It would be a very dangerous fight for sure. I favored Moore to win as well but not without caution

 

Archie Moore by a clean knockout. Too cagey, set traps, he would counter Foster.

 

It would be relatively similar to the first Marciano-Walcott fight. Moore would use all his ring savvy to pile up points until the later rounds when eventually Foster catches him with a power shot and ultimately a KO.

 

Moore batters him.

 

I like Archie but if they fought as many times as Archie fought Harold Johnson, nobody’s batting 1.000.

 

Moore by decision, or possible late round stoppage.
