Could an early 50's Moore beat a prime Cleveland Williams?

Many say Williams was pre-prime when he fought Satterfield.

Archie Moore takes this fight against Cleveland Big Cat Williams, by a stoppage in round 9. Archie took Marciano's best for 9 rounds in 1955, before the end came in that round, even knocking down Rocky. Big Cat broke Sonny Liston's nose in 1959, but was kayoed early. Both are prime for prime, Cleve lands often, but has trouble hurting Moore, who withstands the early onslaught, to end it with a left right combination to an exhausted William's jaw. Archie's stamina and experience are the difference.

Williams was faster than Valdes and hit harder,.Moore was a cagey technician an excellent punch placer. I'd give Williams a shot.

Williams was 20 years old and a late substitute.

Williams wasn't bad, he could really hit some. He looked fairly good against Liston early on.

That said: I'll pick Moore as well. Too crafty and ringwise, imho.

I didn't mean to come off like I thought Williams was bad. Contrary, i think he was one of the best h2h wise to never win the title!

Williams was stopped 8 times in 94 fights.Five of them were after being shot in the stomach.
Once by Blue Lewis and twice by Mac Foster ,and once by Al Jones he was 36 for these fights. They were all good punchers.
The other guy to stop him after his near death hospitalization was Ali.
Before being shot he was ko'd 3 times by Liston twice, and Bob Satterfield ,when he was a 20 years old substitute.
Lets not pretend he was glass jawed!
Moore wasn't exactly Chuvalo when it came to taking big shots!
