This is a classic fight anyway you look at it. How does this turn out, over 15 rounds. Does this end up like Marcaino VS Moore, or can Moore outfox the pure aggressiveness and in your face syle of Qawi?
Qawi gets out classed for the entire evening and stopped late between rounds 10-12. Dwight Braxton was overrated at 175
I think people mis interpret Dwight's style. He was fierce, yes, but had the methodology of boxer. He was a counter puncher who pressured, not a pressure fighter who countered, if that makes sense. The beginning of this would be a very interesting, tight, cagey affair, before exploding in the middle rounds. Would be great boxing here all round, as both went for the kill. As for the winner, I pick Moore.
I'm picking Qawi in a big upset by decision. But Dwight is one of my favorite fighters, so I would be rooting for him if they fought.
Archie Moore wins this one outlasting Dwight Muhammad Qawi, avoiding his pressure style, by countering, and confusing him with his crab like defense. Dwight is not fighting a spent all time great, Matthew Saad Muhammad, he is fighting a well oiled very experienced pro in Moore. Ageless Arch stops Dwight in round 13.
I think it is an all time classic light heavyweight fight .. Qwai, in his prime was a highly skilled, extremely smart beast of a fighter .. strong as hell, supremely conditioned, very good speed, iron chin, terrific defense, hard puncher, relentless and mean as hell .. you have to give an edge ever so slight to Moore because of his huge edge in experience , his superior reach, his overall game and power but it sure better be the best version like the guy that took the title from Maxim and not the older version that fought for his life against Durell ..
Moore at his best would win this. He was born to box and could fight 20 rounds if he had to as he is just so relaxed in there. As many tricks as Braxton has Moore has even more. His power, countering and timing would keep Braxton from taking too many liberties and Moore would be a touch too classy in a bit of a high class technical battle. When Braxton tries to force the pace Moore matches him inside and hits harder. From the outside Moore's reach and jab keep him in good stead. I'd go Moore by decision in a fine fight.
