Archie Moore vs Earnie Shavers

I cannot see Archie Moore beating Ernie Shavers, Archie probably had very good power at middleweight , good power at light heavy and decent at heavyweight. Shavers fought by far the better competition at that weight. Shavers comes out blasting against a guy who's not that big a hitter at that weight, remember Moore was dropped over 50 times in his career and never, I mean never faced any kind of power like Shavers throws and that includes Marciano. Ernie executes Archie early inside 4 rounds .

 

Again being hypocrite? I never said that shavers is favourite against Louis.

Archie faced plenty of big hitters and won most of them. Lost only four matches at HW and that was all to HOFs and 3/4 were after the age of 38! Can’t see Moore losing this one to a fighter who often folded to the better competition he faced. Norton also wasn’t better then Moore at HW despite having the 1 awesome win. At least imo. That’s not a knock on Norton I just hold Moore extremely high in the rankings based on prime completion beat.

 

Pardon me but a prime Ken Norton kills Archie Moore, the man who beat Muhammed Ali and went 15 with Larry Holmes aint losing to a 38 year old Moore. P.S. Archie never faced a hitter like Shavers, as I said before in another post, Archie hit the canvas over 50 times in his career. Moore was slick and cute but he's standing right in front of ole Ernie.

 

Norton beat an out of prime Ali that didn’t take the fight seriously and was a styles problem. Norton also didn’t have a good chin. Moore hitting the canvas 50 times means nothing. He beat plenty of big to decent hitters like Satterfield, Sheppard, Nino, Bivins etc. although his chin did fail him on occasions very rarely at HW. Moore’s record is much better then Shavers against ranked competition and I can assure u he has better power then Quarry. As far as Norton goes Moore was an ATG at both LHW and Hw. His record speaks for itself. When compared to Norton’s although the gap isn’t as bad as Shavers it’s still a better record then Norton’s. In any fight no fighter is guaranteed a win but Norton in no way shape or form “kills him”. Also why use a 38 year old Moore? Prime Moore was probably 32-36 at Hw
