    He was 206 for the Elis fight... Y'know, one of his best wins.

    Why is Shavers a lock for one? His power was a come and go gimmick in his big fights. And Sheppard is a top 5 P4P puncher, Shavers would be lucky to make 10.

    Shavers against Lyle? True heavyweight punching monster. Weight? 206 lbs
    Sheppard against Moore? Too small to be hard hitter. Weight? 198 lbs.

    8 lbs differential - incomparable.

    No. Unfortunately not. Real shame for an advocate like myself. A first round KO over Maxim and praise as high as what Moore gave him is certainly enough for me, though. I think my top 5 would be:

    Langford
    Fitzsimmons
    Jackson
    McClellan
    Sheppard

    Yes and where is sheppard in a top 10 HW hardest punchers and where is ranked shavers? . they key is that shavers is ranked 1 hardest puncher ever so i don't know what are you debating here. Only answering for saying anything?

    Ranked by who? You? This is not that easy, rankings are always subjective.
    Shavers and Sheppard have no common opponents, so its extremely hard to compare them. We have no idea who punched harder.

    The point is that Moore fought a lot of monster punchers and he won against all of them (except Marciano who was far better fighter than Shavers).

    Every important rank of boxing. In every single list of hardest punchers shavers is above sheppard, don't be stubborn

    But it's all exteemely subjective and it's not like Shavers knocked out elite fighters left and right. Sheppard is generally lesser known because he fought before 1970s and he wasn't great fighter. Besides, top 10 power vs top 1 isn't that much of a difference.

    Archie is elusive enough to get away from most of what Earnie is throwing. And it’s not as if he’d go night night on the first bomb. Archie takes this by a wide decision.

    Imagine thinking that a guy who's only decent wins are a shot Elis, shot Norton and green Young and lost, in his absolute prime, to Quarry, Lyle, Cobb, Stallings and Mercado is good enough to be heavily favoured over HW Archie Moore...

    What? Fitzsimmons is probably the strongest puncher p4p ever. He knocked out durable HWs with body punches while weighing within super-MW limit.
