Moore by KO in his prime. He was a better fighter at 175 than Hopkins(especially a 43 year old version) and while Hopkins shows very good accuracy and timing, Moore shows this plus power, and a lot of it. If Hopkins is catching Calzaghe early on, Moore wouldn't have the same troubles with Calzaghe's movement, as he implied more of a shoulder roll, cross arm defense at times than Hopkins, who relied on movement, and was outdone by the quicker fighter. Moore would look to counter Calzaghe often, and would, though he'd likely lose a few rounds in the process. I can't see Calzaghe lasting though, with the clean shots he'd be taking from such a murderous, accurate puncher. If Hopkins is hitting him and hurting him with accurate counters, age slowing him down, I'll take Moore to do the same, age not being a factor, and power being a bigger one.

At 168, this is a tougher call. Calzaghe poses some problems stylistically, as does Moore, but a guy like Jones is far more suited to beating Moore than Calzaghe.

That's how I see it. Moore timing Calzaghe with counters, gradually slowing him down and stopping him in the mid/late rounds. After rewatching Calzaghe/Hopkins earlier in the week, I don't think nearly as high of his chances. I'd comfortably pick guys like Qawi and Saad Muhammad to beat him.

At 168, I'd actually go with Calzaghe. Moore would have success early on, but I see Calzaghe adjusting and using his superior footspeed and handspeed to his advantage on the outside. But he couldn't beat Moore being extremely aggressive or trying to really force the issue.

Calzaghe is like a modern day version of Harry Greb, only southpaw. Like Greb, Calzaghe lacks power. There will never be another Greb, but their styles are similar IE windmill attack, high work-rate, angles, crafty, etc. (Greb is one of my favorite old fighters to read about. A shame there is no film footage of any of his fights).

Moore was another animal, who could box and brawl. The 'X' factor in this match up would be Archie's power.

    I'd pick Archie on points.

calzaghe beats no all time great at 175 including hopkins. Jones ko's him hopkins does to and all the other greats. Calzaghe is not very good at all and he is the worst undefeated champion i have ever seen punch

Moore. I think that Calzaghe's coming style will get him dumped on his backside more than once. Those knockdown's would maybe be the difference.

Let's give JoeCal a chance to defend his Lightheavy title a few times before we can really judge him.

Hopkins was old, and really not the best Lightheavy out there anyway.

Then we can put Joe in with Charles, Moore, H. Johnson, Foster, Galindez, Conteh, Y. Lopez, Saad, M. Johnson, Spinks, Qawi, and RJJ and make some real analyses.

If Hopkins can drop Calzaghe with a sneaky right hand then Moore, who was even trickier and hit much harder, would be able to knock his ass out.

Moore put The Rock down for a two count in the second round of their fight.

So if he had JoeCal down early, you think he might of gone for the knockout instead of backing off?

I would imagine Moore would give Joe a boxing lesson. I am not sure if he would knock Joe out or not but I am guessing he would drop him once and win on points. I think Moore would be busier than Hopkins and that would be the difference between a Split decision loss and a decision win.
