Expectation: None. Probably gonna be a **** fight even though Moore is a lot of fun. You just need one **** fighter to turn the whole fight to ****. This content is protected Since this is a repetitive fight, I will only go over the most critical rounds as I see fit. To describe each round would be pointless and a huge yawn to all of us. Description: 1. Moore taking on his aggressive pressuring role immediately, as is expected, and Maxim responding with clinches, as expected. However, Maxim actually THREW uppercuts to the head of Moore when they were separated. Wow. A right to the temple by Moore had Maxim in a little trouble in the closing moments. Moore. 2. By now I am thinking that Maxim must be scared of Moore. He will not desist with the clinching. Moore. 3. Moore's body work and powerful, quick 1-2's are evidently too much for a simpleton such as Maxim. Moore. 4. Maxim throwing and landing more jabs this round. I think a sneak right by Archie surprised him. Moore lost the round on a low blow. Maxim. 7. Archie managed a few more right hand wallops than he had previously been able to, due to Maxim's excessive clinching. I think he probably had Maxim hurt and that is why Maxim was not clinching as much. I also detected an accidental though still powerful headbutt by Moore as he was charging in at one point. Moore. 10. A long right overhand staggered Maxim, who never regained his bearings. Moore tried something fierce to stop Maxim, whose clinching tactics clinched his survival. Moore. 12. Maxim looking wilted from the attack to the body. Moore. 15. Moore sped up his work rate in the last 30 seconds or so, probably to make an impact on the judges' minds. Moore. Final score: Rounds 8 & 9 are missing, but there is no doubt in my mind about the outcome. As it stands, we have 13 complete rounds of this encounter, and I gave all but one of the thirteen rounds to Moore. The only one I didn't give him was the one he lost on a low blow-the 4th. Assessment: Moore-Though he looked no ball of fire, I think that's because he was up against a spoiler. Nobody looks good fighting Maxim. Moore looked sharp anyhow. Plenty of speed, power, and stamina. Whereas I think most fighters are best known for the fight where they won a title, Moore is not, and it is easy to see why. Moore is remembered for far better achievements. Maxim-He had nothing to show. He offered no resistance other than clinches. Maxim was better suited to wrestling than boxing. And I can't wait to see him fight for the last time on film. Verdict: A horrible, horrible fight. I hate to say it, cuz Archie Moore is one of the fighters, but like all Maxim fights, it's just a tremendous bore, and I'm going to go so far as to say, PLEASE DO NOT watch this fight.
