some people here Ron wouldn't count that as any credibility, you know 'Heresay' ... then of course Documentation can be, or is provided, still not enough for some. however you hang about, you read dozens of threads a week, for years & years and you watch the same naysayers themselves 'use' 1st Hand info - funny, it's No Longer heresay... then you will see documentation cited and suddenly it's accepted... your a smart man, you see the hypocrisy and you just scratch your head. you also know that it's typically the same handful of people who eventually bully 'their' approval & acceptance on these sites, wasting them for others. you stick around for the love of Boxing, you learn you discuss and you thank the Gentlemen on Board and you just live with the demented bad *******s that are hellbent on winning at all costs. ALL forums end the same way... a handful ruining things for the many. What wonderful Boxing legacy you have had Sir... it is my pleasure to Thank you for your impute. Blessings Ron.
Anybody disputed his claims? Accepting them does not mean everyone has to agree with his opinions as to how fights will turn out. Cerdan for example never proved his superiority over the rest of the Euro middles, he split a pair with Dellanoit and never fought Dauthille or Villemain and, like Zale there are quite a few names conspicuously missing from his record. Burley Wade Lytell Belloise Moore Tunero Basora Chase For starters.
Calm down don't get p1ssy with me. I was curios, I didn't doubt it we have had plenty of guys here who have known notable boxers I just wanted to know more about his friendship with Zale.
I wasn't even thinking of you, you are not, nor ever been among the few - the 'maestro' as I call him has fought with damn near everyone and been banned from every site repeatedly over the years, he has a few fan boys and they have ill effected every site as well as tried to malign many people while doing it! despicable people.
ARE YOU REFERRING TO ONE OF US ON THIS THREAD? Since there is only 5 of us that have posted on this thread Ron D the OP,Jabber, ,Journeyman, myself, and you, you must be referring to one of the 3 of us not the OP and obviously not yourself, which leaves Journeyman,Jabber and me,you've stated it isn't Journeyman which just leaves Jabber and me.Which of us are you talking about? Don't be shy, name him!
One last note on the Armstrong vs. Day wltweight championship fight. It's very peculiar both opponents were ltweights, Day had to come in at 1 lb more, to protect Hanks Lightweight title. Montanez was schedule to fight Armstrong on March 31st. and backed out 10 or 12 days prior. Mike Jacobs selected Davey to fill the date, probably figuring, since Davey hasn't fought in 3 months he would naturally be stale. Having less then 10 days to get in shape to go 15rds. Armstrong took a terrible beating and was damaged goods after the fight. Day went back to Chicago with a sore right eye. Armstrong was tentatively going to fight Davey in June in Chicago and backed out, that's when Jacobs decided to match Davey with #1 welterweight contender Pedro Montanez on May 23rd. with winner to fight Armstrong for the Weltrweght Title. Jacobs teeth fell out, when Davey stopped Montanez in the 8th rd suffering a severely deep gash eye Tko. Davey said, "bring me Armstrong."
No one knows exactly how old he is but there are old newspapers with the headline "Angry giant brutally mugs Tunney!" with a very familiar face in the witness sketch.
