Moore decked Rocky and took him into the 9th round till it was finally stopped. Terrell cleaned up the heavyweight division beating all the top contenders of the day. This would be right before he fought Ali. He was considered to be Ali’s greatest challenger up to that point but early in the fight Ali either cuffed or thumbed Terrell in the eye and he was blinded and seeing double and could only cover for the rest of the fight. The injury basically ended his career as a serious contender. Who wins?
Terrell was 6’ 6” with an 82 inch reach 212 1/2 for the ALI fight. We re not talking about a spastic clod like Primo Canera or Abe Simon etc. Terrell had the best jab in the business he had athletic ability and was a very good seasoned boxer. Also known to be very punishing in clinches. He honed his skill over years of working in the gym sparring people like Sonny Liston. Even Liston said if you fight Terrell you’re going to be hit. He would had tattooed Moore with the jab and won a unanimous decision.
Moore wins this. The way to beat Moore was to outwork him. Terrell had a different skill set. Think he gets caught trying to tie him up from the faster and more powerful Moore. Moore had no issues w the big men (Baker, Nino, Cestac, Henry, etc).
