I can't decide. One ****ing war, and there is no doubt about that. I would love to watch this ****ing war, and pay shitload amounts of money to watch it. There is no way this fight would last just a few rounds, and every round of it would be worth the watch.
Archie Moore, and it would be easier than one thinks. Saad Muhammad is a top ten Lt.heavy in history. No doubt about that. But he was far to easy to hit. Say what you will about Moore but he was sound defensively, and he would bring and even better arsenal to the fight than Muhammad would and better skills overall . I like Moore to stop Muhammad around the 10th rd . The r
I think Moore's superior defense and skills see him to victory. That being said, if it were during Moore's era, and, they fought 4 or 5 times, Saad is likely to pick up a KO win along the way.
By the time Moore was ruling the Light Heavyweight division for a decade, it's difficult to see him losing to anyone. Sure, Matt was ridiculously game and carried a shot but Archie's ring savvy and one shot power means that, even in fantasy match ups, he's only really threatened by Mike Spinks or Heavyweights. Moore by a massive margin on points.
This would not be a close one in my eyes, Archie had too much of everything for nearly every LHW ever and was a good HW in his own right.
Moore too good here but over a series of fights Saad would have a punchers chance of getting a W somewhere. Most times Moore's brilliant skillset and all around abilities would get him home. Lets not forget Moore is a big puncher at 175 and really puts the pressure on once in the groove so stoppage win for him would not surprise one bit.
Saad achieved a lot, but he isn't as good head-to-head as he is on an all-time great list, IMO. Moore was at least one full level above him, and should beat him handedly. I do think Moore's losses to Morrow, Charles and Bivins should be overlooked though, as Saad could definitely bang. Then again, so could Smith, Satterfield and Durrele. Moore in a war is where the smart money's at.
