First fight: Who would win in a prime vs prime? Second fight: the archie moore who fought Ali vs the trevor berbick who fought against tyson
Moore wins the first one and maybe the second one. The Moore that fought Ali was almost 30 years into a very long pro career, still the fight before Ali he held future champ Pastrano to a draw. Berbick was awkward and physical and usually durable (Tyson and I think Ossie Ocasio aside if I'm remembering right). I'm probably still backing Moore in the second fight but wouldn't be surprised if Berbick was able to eek out a decision.
1. Archie would hammer out a decisive decision in what I think would be a fair blazer. Of course, Berbick was pretty big and was unpredictable. He has a small chance of out-muscling Moore in a maul-and-brawl affair. 2. I would have to say Berbick. Tyson was all wrong for him. But Moore had nothing left at that point. He was an old man. Berbick fought on for an additional 15 years, winning often (albeit not again top tier opposition).
Moore wins the 1st one but I think Berbick takes the 2nd one, Berbick is a little bit underrated. He beat Tate and gave Thomas, Page, their first losses.
I don’t think Berbick is intelligent enough to beat Archie 3 years after retirement. He was a total waste as a man and a boxer.
Yeah? Dunno about outside the ring but for a guy who no one rated he didn’t have a bad career. First guy to go the full 15 with Holmes after prime Holmes stopped all his first 7 or 8 in his title defences. Beat unbeaten top prospect Page at a time when many were predicting big things for Page, Beat unbeaten heavyweight champ, Thomas at a time where many thought that Thomas was the best heavyweight in the world. Also one of the few guys, maybe the only guy to have fought Ali, Holmes an Tyson course there were many low lights in his career but you gotta say overall he had a good eventful career
Honestly, he was a contender and he contended. He didn't have a bad career and It was eventful but I repeat what I said about him as a person. Nice touch about Holmes, Tyson and Ali. It's a bit like Moore being the only one to fight Ali and Marciano a cool little detail.
Yeah, weren’t trying to slight you or anything an you’re right about what he was like as a person. Just felt you were a bit hard on him regarding his boxing career
I was hard on him, you're right. 100%. His career was what it was and by any standard he did enough worth recognition.
