Archie Sharp born 04/14/1995 is a 5'9 Super Featherweight with a 14-0 7 KO's record. Born in Sidcup, Kent, United Kingdom and fighting out of Welling, London, United Kingdom. I think Frank Warren might just have one of the true hidden gems of the sport in his ranks, this kid has virtuoso like potential, literally I think he could be a prodigy, a legit sleeper that no one will see coming at 130. He didn't have a long expansive amateur career, he turned pro at 20, but he did manage to amass 3 Tri-Nation Gold medals, and ended up being a national champion 6 times, his amateur record was a fairly decent 56-5. He's a genuine natural, gifted with remarkable handspeed, is a switchhitter which he does effortlessly, impressive footwork, high ring IQ, and Lomachenko like reflexes. His defense is on point, he dodges, bobs, weaves and parries punches quite well, his punch selection is pretty damn brilliant at times, his chin the few times he gets tagged, seems fairly solid as well. All around, he's as solid as they come. He's a cunning, crafty fighter, whose only drawback is his self admitted tendency to want to beat fighters at their own game, by taking their strengths away, and using it against them, by literally beating them over the head with i. That's all well and good at the level he's operating on, but his handlers need to advise him against that when he steps up in class. But other than that, he's got all the potential in the world. He doesn't need to be rushed, he's still very young, I'd hate to see him get thrown in with a Salido type opponent and get mentally and emotionally wrecked already. He's impressive, but he needs some time to iron out his few lapses here and there, and he seems to be a ready and willing quick learner. He's already got one decent scalp, fellow prospect Lyon Woodstock, who many thought was going to expose him, well, he nearly KO'd his ass in 1, dominated him from bell to bell, in spite of the far too close scores would imply, it wasn't close at all. So Check Out Archie take some *****es to Riverdale.:ggg:ggg:ggg:ggg

I've been on the Sharp train since I saw him on the Saunders - Monroe undercard. I'm not sure is it a good or bad thing that Frank doesn't know what a gem he has on his hands, cause Warren's matchmaking can be a bit aggressive sometimes when he thinks he's on to a winner.

Still can't believe he was almost a +300 underdog vs. Woodstock. Best bet of the ****ing year so far. I should have put my entire belongings on that...

he's a very good fighter. I didn't know he was public underdog in the Woodstock fight though, i'd have thought it was an easy pick that he'd beat Woodstock

Looks very good and glad he humbled that Woodstock chap. Had Sharp winning pretty much every round in that, not sure how some people considered it a close fight

Do you think Ronnie Clark would be a good step up? I don't see Zelfa Barret chasing the rematch so Archie could step in and take another decent scalp.

Was a great fight with Woodstock.

Young Archie is in good hands with Frankie boy.

i think he'd be a great step up. Southpaw, always gives the top domestic fighters a tough fight, coming off the back of a good win over Zelfa Barrett, could be the perfect opponent.

Agreed. Very unorthodox style, so would be a good test.

I find your assessment somewhat over the top. Young Archie has balls but will come unstuck at world championship level.

Maybe, but it wouldn't be the first time I overhyped someone. But.... he's got the raw materials to make a great fighter going for him, if he's managed properly, continues to hone his craft and perfect his game, I do think he's capable of accomplishing more than say a Martin Joseph Ward type fighter, I think he's got Euro level potential, with a little work he may make it to World level.

Could well make Euro level, some good fights around British level too with Barrett or Sam Bowen who are both Warren fighters. He is a good ticket seller so will get the fights and reminds of Frank Buglioni coming through with his barmy army of fans. I expect his career to pan out in similar fashion.

I actually thought Woodstock was a big 130lber, but this guy looked quite a bit bigger and stronger tbh.

I don't follow too many midgets but he might be one to keep an eye on.

Will be in interested to see who is actually willing to fight him now.
