Oh shut the **** up. Anybody 6 anything 2something or another that is any bit athletic is playing football. Football and basketball has taken over all of our athletic folk. The boxers, except the lower weights, are just left over any old dudes. Look at Rahman. He is just any old guy.

The Olympian Americans lately just haven't been able to reach near the top of the division, and yeah, the best athletes are making more doing the more major sports by public standards than boxing.

football and basketball brings more money than boxing and you don't get hurt physically, you do get hurt at football, basketball but you get my point.

Plus you have fun playing football and basketball..

I agree I love watching boxing more and more of a fan, but I have more fun playing basketball and football. I think unless you started boxing young, you have to be really dedicated to have great sucess

What do you expect when you have guys who win 1 or 2 national titles, after a couple years of boxing period ... then turn pro w/ 0 international experrirence ... going up against guys who've been boxing since they were legally able to and have tons of international experience ...

The amateur HW scene has turned commercial ... you have guys who aren't even HW's competing at that weight ... you have guys who don't have much amateur experience having success early and running with it ...

    Its a shame --

They actually have to compete with the rest of the world for the first time. In the "good old days" half the world was locked up behind the iron curtain and wasn't allowed out.

we're just too fat to care about the heavyweights. Seriously getting beat up is not a good way to make a living.

all you non Americans are lucky the US crop is so bad due to participation in lucrative sports and for other reasons. if that weren't the case, relative 'cans' like chagaev, peter, and ibragimov (and old maskaev) would never hold belts.
