I just got through watching the Fedor Tim Sylvia fight with some guys they were shocked and angry that the fight ended that way. After discussing it with them they were angry that A Russian won.

Americans are just plain stupid and ignorant in general. This goes way beyond sport.

Let's not generalize here. I'm sure there are plenty of Americans that are still fighting the cold war - but there are plenty more still fighting the Civil War. There are ignorant people in every culture so no need to single us out.

I'm not one and neither are the majority of true MMA/boxing fans.

I think MMA fans are just upset that a modern fighting legend such as Sylvia lost.

The worst is when your old sinile teacher is still fighting cold war. Doesn't reflect your grades very well. I guess the "red scare" really scared the **** out of people...

Considering virtually everyone(virtually everyone being American) in the Honda center were cheering on the Russian Emelianenko I would say your statement is a gross generalization and wrong.

It seems like I just find some of the reaction to things strange. Perhaps it is because I live right in the heart of right wing, bible belt, hill billy heaven. You put all of those together and it is a mess.

I have been several times to both Russia and Ukraine and I like the culture and the hospitality of the people, especially the Ukrainians. You are made to feel really comfortable when invited into someone's home and being offered food and drink is the norm. I will go back eventually for sure.

I'm not sure where you live and for that matter don't really care, but just reading many of these posts, mostly in the "lounge" area you don't have to look to hard to find stupid ignorant people. Unfortunately you're the kind of person that doesn't want to hear someone speak the truth. Stop looking through rose colored glasses and look at the country as a whole, we voted for GWB twice that should speak for itself.

Of course I was being general, the question was a general question fool.

First off the guy hijacked the first term of office, then all the bull**** went down in his first term. Ok nobody knew this would happen, but then................we voted his ass back in for a second term. Why? because America kicks ass, and we need a president to kick ass and Bush kicks ass.

Now obviously not EVERY single American feels the same way, me and you for example, but the majority of Americans are egomaniacs and believe that nobody can compare to America. You just don't like the fact that its truth, nor do I but it is.

Oh and fightfan you also think Tyson would KO Fedor in 2 seconds, so I dismiss your arguement altogether.

It has nothing to do with "3rd world" countries of course it is better then fukin' places like Burma or Somalia, who would argue other wise? The question was a generalization it did not ask for specific persons IN America, it was asked as a whole and as a whole Americans are ignorant and egotisical, obviously that is my opinion. Not everybody I come across on a daily basis are both (or either) but as a whole its not hard to tell. We think we are better then everybody at everything.

Also I could care less if I wasn't exactly 100% correct in the whole Tyson thing, 2 seconds, first round, whatever you have this thing about specifics that infatuates you that I don't understand. Is it true that you where in a thread where you championed Tyson as murdering Fedor? Again I don't care to even look its your infatuation.
