Tito and Pavlik - but I could understand someone arguing Tarver as his second-best. I think Hopkins was at his absolute best from around 1999 - 2001, with his peak being the Trinidad fight. That was when he had perfected his style, knew how to pace a fight and had mastered his best combination; the straight-right followed by the accidental headbutt. He might have been smarter after that but he wasn't as fast/athletic. I don't think he was ever better than that night in 2001.
In name Value, yeah. Those were the two big money boxers that he beat at the weight. De La Hoya wasn't a very good middleweight though. Trinidad, he was solid, but I could see both having issues with certain guys that Hopkins beat. If you put either in with that Robert Allen from the first and second Hopkin vs Allen fights, I don't think either beats that Allen, dude was giving a young, more capable Hopkins issues. I think a young Echols, vs Trinidad would be fun while it lasted. I think Glen Johnson would have beat both Oscar and Tito.
