I could see the draw coming. It was an entertaining fight, but if there had been a winner I would have given the winner a chance to compete once again in the top-10. As it is, I don't see either getting a title shot for a long time if ever. It's like they both lost.
With the draw basically they will be stuck with a rematch which will take another year. The time is ticking away and it is not in favor in any of them. I could see only 1 last chance for the potential winner and that's it pretty much.
I was routing for Andy, but I thought Miller won. I think Miller, in this shape, gives a lot of people trouble. 300 lbs, constantly on anyone's ass, causes some issues.
In this game, names like these two can remain lomg after their expiration date... getting recycled in contender fights time and again when the new upcomer needs a name or a new champion needs a showcase fight. So for that reason I dont know how done they are. But in reality reality, yes they are done. I would say Miller could still make for interesting fights but the guy had a Ruiz that was asking to be put out of his misery, in a make or break style fight, and he wouldnt let his hands go to do it. So that takes away a lot of his danger in other matchups.
Miller was never that good to begin with, like prime Arreola level, maybe worse, so a C lister type fighter. He was never really a true contender, just his size and fun style along with the Matchroom hype machine made him out to be something he never was. Ruiz Jr was once good but inactivity and his laziness and lack of discipline going to new levels which is shocking considering even at his best he was lazy and ill disciplined, have led to his decline. He made millions against AJ and what little hunger and desire he had seems to have gone. He's was more interested in living the lavish lifestyle and cheating on his then wife than boxing. In truth boxing was never a priority for him it was more a means to an end and since he made all that money he's basically been going through the motions of being a boxer, same thing happened with Stiverne. Won the title then spent more time getting fatter than training.
