I have met Lennox and Chuvalo before and they have pretty massive hands. But they are also just really big guys so it makes sense. So in the smaller weight classes, do the top boxers typically have bigger hands for their heights/physiques? I figure its gotta help or make no difference. But I cant really see a way that smaller hands would be better?
Yes. Just ask Blizzy to tell you about the size of Ali's hands. Seriously, boxers with small hands usually dont do so well. Boxing is very tough on the hands.
This from personal experience alone. I got small/average or w/e hands and they are definitely not meant for punching. I can get injured rather easy.
Yep, not all fists were meant for power punching hard objects. Having a sturdy thick fist is like hitting a dude with a bigger thicker rock. More powa. Doesnt mean a smaller fist guy can't lay a big fisted dude out however, lol, just bigger chance he smashes a knuckle doing it.
I feel how developed the knuckles are makes more of a difference plus physically a smaller fist can penetrate smaller target area better with more force.
Foreman has solid pricks for hands while my middle knuckles are way out there. I have already ****ed up my hands. The moment i learned how to leverage my punches, i hurt my knuckles real bad.
The bigger your hands the bigger your guard, and that's before you even consider them as offensive weapons.
Yeah, i basically did the same but not as fast, plus my wrists are relatively skinny and i sure damaged them a few times.
As soon as Blizzy reads the title of this thread he will secretly groan inside. He knows what will be waiting for him.
