Seeing as we are in one of the worst heavyweight periods in history, I just don't rate them at all. Wlad especially.

seeing vitali go 9 rounds with a former cruiserweight in juan carlos gomez and hugging and pawing , i would say they are the best around in the last 9 years, but then again, that doesnt say much......

    No.

For one thing, many era's were worse- the Joe Louis era, the Larry Holmes era, the Dempsey era, etc. Really, the only good eras were the 70'2 and the 90's.

On top of that, at least Wladdy fought everyone. Greats like Jeffeeries, Dempsey, and even Jack Johnson drew the color line so that they would not have to fight the best of the day. The great Joe Louis did not fight most of the good black fighters either. Larry Holmes openly ducked guys like Pinklon Thomas and Michael Dokes. Floyd Patterson foguht nobody, and Sonny Liston had to resort to cheating.

wlad fights who is there, and he wins fair and square.

In most eras, Gomez would be a fairly big HW. Same height as Ali, Foreman or Holmes, bigger than Louis, Liston, Marciano, Patterson, Frazier...most HW's in past eras would be cruisers today.

And what evidence is there that this is the worst HW era? Remembering the most glorious bouts of the past and ignoring all the lesser fights and fighters is silly. Wlad and Vitali easily beat better competition that Joe Louis in H2H terms. Does anyone really think Braddock would be the recognized champion today?

Funny thing is when its something good Klit fans love to clump them together, but when its something bad they get pissed that people clump them together...

Outside of a handful of Klit nutsack fleas they arent over rated at all. They are the best heavyweights in the world today...TODAY... They dont belong on any top all time anything lists, which is were the fleas want to put them.

ok dingbatz letz just use are BRAINz here for a FARKIN SECOND shall we ??

first WHO the hell are we REFERING to when YOU say "OVER-RATED" ?

are u talking about RING magazine or you talking about FARMBOXER ??

u can see WHY itz important that WE know WHO are talking about ?

MY POINT is if ur talking about KLIT NUTHUGGERz then of course the KLIT fanz OVER RATE the KLITz, fook them klit huggerz think that the klitz could beat all the PAST TIME great heavyz in their prime on the same god dam nite

IMHO i happen to think that VLAD is OVER-RATED by the NUTHUGGERz and UNDER-RATED by the OLD-BOXING-STALWARDz that are still under the spell of ALI's charisma in and out of the ring

hard to blame the OLD BOXING FANz for still being under ALIz spell as he waz something very very special in so many wayz

in closing i dont think this is the worst heavyweight era of all time whatsoever

i dont think itz the STRONGEST era whatsoever but i dont think itz the WEAKEST ever and belief that PART of the reason itz considered so WEAK is because vlad is ALOT better than the old stalwardz are ever going to be able to abmit

    Pretty much.

While I think that many realise how vulnerable a head to head matchup Wlad is, and would lose against most genuine HW fighters with a punch some of his more deluded fans think he is a killer who genuinely cannot be beat in his current incarnation.

And Vitali is horribly overrated as a H2H matchup, on the basis of giving Lewis a good fight.

    Again, good post.

The problem is is that the fleas are becoming more numerous.

If they could be Frankenstein'd together, that would be a top 10 h2h atg IMO. They're both limited in some ways, Vitali would likely be more competitive with other atg's as he won't break under pressure.

Over rated by some, underrated by others... that puts them in pretty good company.
