I don't know weather it is just me but the jab seems to be used less and less in the fights im watching. It is a great tool to have but it seems boxers are neglecting it?

    It's obsolete.

It's only good for slow fighters of the era. It can be countered easily nowadays.

Jab can be easily parried or countered by a world class boxer if you're going to consistently jab it has to be an elite jab like klitschko's having good reach is also a plus when it comes to jabbing

I don't know whether ( not weather ) boxers are neglecting their ( not there ) jabs or not, to be honest.

Who are the best consistent jabbers.

Klitchko isn't jabbing as he used too.
Floyd relies mostly on counter rights.

    Kovalev uses it well!
I'd say tyson fury has a very nice jab one of the best at hw.
GGG uses his jab like a right hand.
    Cotto very nice jab.

The best jab in boxing belongs to Billy Joe Saunders.

But there aren't any jabbers like Holmes or Buchanan around.

You funny. But we agree he got good jab so we not disagree on all thing.
You'll say his size too much or something silly when Iwasa actually spar similar fighter already like Iwasa, and Tunacao, if they to fight he always get Wake and Omori to spar. Lot of good southpaw jabber around there.

Also Kino****a do better job against Tete than Butler, I think that funny. Kino****a a bit ****py.

Good post Wlad's jab is fading it seems as it didn't help him much against povetkin or pulev

Fury IMO has the best jab in boxing at the moment it's like he is hitting the opponent from half way across the ring

Ward has a good jab which he uses pretty often both to the head and to the body, as someone mentioned previously Golovkin has a pretty good jab and I'd add Canelo to the list as well.

I mean generally I agree though, you'll more often see a "pawing" or a rangefinding jab nowadays to offset the other fighters timing and rhythm rather than hard-hitting crisp jabs.

I tell you who dose have a good jab when he uses it,Carl Froch. Depending on who he fights he some times boxes like the night he dominated Abrahams. He boxes unorthodox with his hands low so when he dose throw his jab it comes up from around his hips so its hard to see it coming but with his power he tends to go to war.

There are a few things athletically poor boxers need... To be big for their weight class, tuck their elbows and keep their chin tucked, and have a good jab.
For skilled and athletic boxers the jab is the most overrated punch there is.
