Unfortunately it wont. There r people whom words will simply not reach. Dictators, drug addicts, psychos, islam extremists, infants, modern day boxing fans
Yes,I have never seen someone just shoot down athletes that take beatings and risk their health on a daily basis.. Ortiz loses a fight and he is a bum,a fighter fights a smart fight " he ran".. I don't want to say as a whole but more than any other sport, and I think we do that out of favortism. The internet and forums have given birth to "trolling" in the early to mid 90's the disdain for fighters was not there.. Now you got people joining fighters pages just to hate
Also those trolls are not true boxing fans, you can not be a fan of Floyd or Manny,Cotto etc.. but to just undermine a whole fighters career is just silly.. The bad part is people feeding into the trolls.. A troll does not care if he gets positive feedback, all he cares is someone is going back and forth..
There's really no way around it. Fans have their favorite fighter and fighters they dont care for that much. They will big up fighters they like and put down the ones they dont. It's natrual...
Most of the boxing fans are not so bad but the forum warrior types seem to come in a lot of shapes and sizes. Things that **** me of the most are the types that just **** all over a fighter they just supported because of 1 loss (fickle basterds) Another thing i intensly hate is fans being all happy if their favorite fighter won no matter if it took a robbery. I have always prided myself that i want the fighter that actually won to get a decision, fans cheering on a robbery disgust me.
:rofl I'm stealing this. People who marginalize the entire sport or a division due to misguided nationalistic ideals, or race, or plain stupidity, or fanboyism etc are the only real problem. Seems to mainly be a Canadian problem though. Talking **** about a single fighter is no big deal. People are passionate about the fighters they support.
I thought MMA fans were bad but I give them a pass since MMA is a relatively new sport and not too many people actually have trained in it. Boxing fans ala *****s-*******s are equally as bad.
Practice what you preach!!! Alot of your posts are: Helenius is a Euro ***, Helenius is a bum, **** Kevin Johnson, This guy got exposed for being a bum, etc etc etc...!!! Respect the Fighters Pot meet Kettle
Got a major fight lined up...Im under a gag order not to discuss it...!!! The fight will be in March, but we have a February fight on the table also (quick tune up before the major fight). He was going to fight on the NBC show, but the 4 opponents offered declined...!!!
I think that the most egregious fans are the ones that have never "laced up" or spared at a gym. Someone with some boxing experience knows a fight looks a LOT different when YOU are the one in the fight: rather than observing it from the outside as a spectator. ANYONE who climbs into the ring against a trained fighter -- a fighter who has the potential to cause great bodily harm or even death -- deserves a certain degree of respect. Sure, justifiable criticism is OK and even helps to monitor the profession. But calling a fighter a coward (for example) shows a shallow understanding of the sport and what these guys/girls have to go through. :bbb
