As soon as a fighter loses they become exposed, shot, done, hype jobs etc. There is no wonder why so many fighters are trying to protect their 0 now days. We (the fans), are responsible for not seeing the best fight the best! Btw, i'm not a bute fan, but the fan reaction is just crazy! I mean, there are people saying the man should retire ffs!

You should use the word fans loosely when talking about these immature cretins. Most of them have no clue about the sport.

It's not just when a fighter loses either. One good win and all is forgiven.

    ^yup

slash in the case of bute he WAS exposed as a hypejob

He had fought b- opposition his entire career but he was excused and ranked highly because he looked good against them (as you would expect)

Then he stepped up age 32 and was brutally ktfo

Surely that's the definition of exposure

Had he never made that step up against Froch he would continue to be thought of as perhaps the #1 SMW in the world by some, if he fought cans and stayed undefeated a few more years, people may have even said he was the SMW goat

boxers don't fight as often as other athletes play their sports, so naturally we'll place more weight on every single performance
