I would rather listen to foreign commentary than hear Jim Watt moan all the way through a fight and use the same catchphrases every time, John Rawling is ****ing terrible in all.
Japanese commentators >>>>> any other commentators. I don't understand any word they are saying but even in the lull of a fight, they can inject excitement to it.
i've seen some rounds of that useless wimp Degale backing up like scared 3 year old and rarely slapping around while getting pummeled by some other bum that couldn't throw a straight punch to save his life a week ago or so, british commentators were making it out like that bum Degale was skillfully outboxing that other dude. lol that was about the most ridiculous commentary i've ever heard. i had to trun that bs off
no chance, the usa has despicable commentators...ill never forget the **** they talked during Naz v Kelly, slagging of frank bruno in the crowd, ****ing horrible ****s.....ii'll tell you what though...the degale commentating was unreal.....he was being made out to have cat like reflekes while having his head snapped back on the ropes repeatedly. worst thing is Woodhall was there, and he wasnt as bad as the other guy (cant remember who) but he was almost agreeing with him rather than being honest with everyone and saying it how it was '****ing shite'
calling them the worst in the world is also a bit unfair though when were only really talking british and american commentators...and they have larry merchant.
It was said before the fight that so long as Harrison "goes out on his shield" then he would "redeem himself." Then, following the fight, as Harrison left the ring one of them said "at least he went out on his shield". I'm paraphrasing and I can't remember exactly who said what, but these things were said.
Mexican commentators are the same way. They'll often root for their own fighters, but I like the fact that they focus on the action first and foremost and respond with the appropriate enthusiasm (sometimes going overboard, haha). I'd say Showtime does the best job overall. They're usually unbiased and do a great job of calling the action, rather than trying to construct a bs narrative that favors the house fighter, like the HBO team. As far as the worst, the Filipino commentators are pretty bad. If you think Nathanielsz is a crappy writer, you should hear him call a fight.
