will he still be as beloved as before he lost to mayweather? do you still see him becoming the superstar soo many wanted him to be or will he fade into oblivion and become a contender with multiple losses on his resume?

    discuss

Get used to seeing Alvarez for the next 10+ years.
The kid is here to stay.

No. He exposed Mayweather. He's still the undefeated 154 lb champ. Because Floyd drained him, and Floyd said he don't drain fighers, and he still considered Cotto undefeated because Pacquiao drained him and he wasn't at his best in that fight.

If Floyd considered Cotto undefeated, then like Floyd said, we should all consider Canelo undefaeted since "CATCH weights are meaningless".

he'll go back to his old formula, then back to another big fight, then lose again.

he'll eventually be proven as someone that's nothing special.

No. The kid can fight, he's young, and will learn from his last fight with Floyd. 23 years old isn't exactly 32.... he has plenty of time.

Canelo will be back and champion again before long.

Beating Trout sure as hell wasn't "15 minutes of fame" unless you're ******ed.

No, he'll be around for a while yet. Although this was a comprehensive loss, he's still a very good - and popular - fighter. Why should a young fighter be written off as a result of one loss.

Barrera lost twice against Junior Jones and if their first fight happened today, MAB would be decried as a "glass-jawed fraud" who'd been exposed and had no place in a boxing ring.

Canelo will bounce back and have a long, successful career.

He is just a good overall fighter. There are plenty of guys around his weight who will give him trouble. He should have a good career but not a spectacular career.

You right about that. Duran, SRL, and Hearns were cut from a differnet cloth than Floyd Mayweather Jr. FMJ ain't half the fighter Duran, SRL, and Hearns were.

    5'7" with ten ounce gloves

    short legs

no one punch power in either hand

    low output

    bad footwork

how does a boxer with these limitations even have 15 minutes of fame?

hes going to fight molina(a poor mans version of yory boy campas) next where the compubox numbers after the fight are going to be identical for both boxers and canelo will win a wide UD like he did against trout.

but then even the casual boxing fan will know, like what happened in the trout fight, that canelo alvarez is really nothing special

something knowledeable guys like me have been saying for the last two years and more assertively after the mosley fight.

    Lara wins imo.
