Sturm - Chudinov II has to be up there in the fairly recent ones. I get that people may not give a damn cos it wasn't fought on US soil, but it was a title fight. Everything about it stunk to hell - a rematch wasn't even required but yet was somehow mandated, the scorecards were absurd - Fedor outlanded Adnan in 11 out of 12 rounds, and then, to top it all, the result still hasn't been changed to a N/C despite Sturm being popped dirty on both his A and B.

I was just going to ask if anyone watched either of these fights. I heard the second one was a terrible robbery. I'm assuming the fight was boring and they hid behind that to give it to Sturm.

Well the styles match-up meant neither fight was ever gonna be some kind of high octane barn-burner, and in neither case did anyone whitewash any particular round, but Fedor was the clear winner in both cases - fairly close in I and wide in II in my recollection.

Actually was the first one even more comfortable/ dominant for Tschudinow, he would have had most likely stopped Sturm in round 9 or 10, if his own mouth-piece didn't fall out. He even knocked around there Catic down, who hardly won more than 2 - 3 rounds.

Yeah. Faulty memory I guess. I went back and rewatched it after I re-read the RBR cos I was surprised at how wide people had the first bout but I would agree with that summary now.

George Foreman vs Axel Schulz was a "next-level" kind of robbery, too. To properly appreciate it, you've got to take the whole thing into account:

1) Arum bribes the IBF to rank the unknown Schulz so his spot on the George Foreman Retirement Tour can ring up as an official defense.

4) Foreman vacates the belt instead of granting it. Botha-Schulz is now scheduled for the vacant title.

5) Schulz proceeds to beat the Don King-promoted Botha, only to lose on the cards IN HIS OWN BACK YARD.

6) Botha loses the belt when he becomes the first fighter in a title fight to test positive to steroids.

7) The tradition of fighters who test positive for steroids getting a "No Contest" officially on the books instead of a loss begins. This move that basically encourages fighters to keep right on juicing because an NC or ND looks infinitely better than an L on your ledger.

So, not only was Schulz ****ed over, but the chain of events that lead to 'roided up fighters not being disqualified as losers also began here.
