If Williams beats Quintana soundly then you know it was just a case of taking him too lightly and not being in shape. But that still may not restore him to where he was in people's minds after the victory over Margarito. It will take a dominant performance to put him back among the top three WWs, something that will wipe away all doubt. IMHO.

You know how these things go Brooklyn... Quintana pulled off an emotional victory last time around, a 9-to-1 underdog coming of a devastating kayo loss and a long layoff, having his wife and his son in tears and celebrating victory at the end... People keep their fingers crossed so that Carlos wins again ( I also would like him to win) but deep down they know what's gonna happen.

I admit I over-rated him. But I've changed my tune now and see Quintana winning the rematch aswell. Williams is too inaccurate and open.

I think people are jumping off the bandwagon of Paul Williams because of his hype. It not his fault of the hype people gave to him. I think his skills are good enough to be a champion at 147 and maybe the guy who should fight the winner of Cotto-Margarito should he get by Quintana and if Floyd doesn't want to fight.

I see Williams winning this one. He didn't take the first fight seriously obviously, and it wasn't the same guy. He was slow, sluggish, absolutely no power, and ran in to Carlos' punches. I mean...As far as being overhyped goes this IS the same damn guy who beat Margarito....The guy who everybody agrees is going to give Cotto (one of the best P4P fighters today) a hell of a hard time, if not beat him!
After he beat Margo I was just as hyped about him as much as anybody, and could not believe he looked the way he did against Quintana! He'll train much harder this time though, get a good weight, and win this fight though. I do agree he shoudn't be fighting at 147 though. No matter if he wins or not, to drain that much weight is rediculous.

I agree with you. There were some mid to late rounds in which paul was doing well against quintana. People on here though tend to throw a fighter in the trash after a loss. Hell look at what everyone said about JT after he got KO'ed. Well guess what, he came back in the rematch and looked good. Almost could have won it but I think mentally it gave him the boost to do some real damage at super middle. Fighters make comebacks, thats what makes a champion a champion. That being said, I really think Paul is going to win the rematch.

Hilariously most rate him above Vernon Forrest right now, which is ridiculous.

The answer, NO, he's still overrated. Quintana showed what a lot of people saw in him. Poor timing, no defence, squared up, minor punching power at best, 1 dimensional.

The problem was the close victory over Margarito, that catapulted him WAY too high because Margarito was regarded WAY too highly. It's a vicious cycle.

Then they dogged Margarito, rightfully so, he's average, but Margo destroys Cintron again and is now a top P4P fighter apparantley!

I think he'll do better in the Quintana rematch and keep it close but still lose. I just don't think a few months is enough time to adjust everything he has to in order to beat Carlos.

I'm not giving up on him completely though because with his physical attributes he could very well rule the division in the near future.

Quintana does not fear Williams Punching Power..
Maybe Q decides to put more pressure early and take it to Paul sooner?
Maybe Paul does the same thing?
Willams will be better than the first fight, but will it be enough?

I defo do not see Williams hurting a Quintana the way Cotto was able to..
How sweet would it be if Carlos can score a Kayo tho.
    I see Quintana by SD.

I'm picking Williams in the rematch.

PW fought the wrong fight against Quintana and he knows it. This was not the same Williams that showed up against Margarito.

Williams seemed overconfident and showed little respect for Quintana's power and skills.

I suspect he will be more prepared this time and will attempt to use his reach to control the fight and not be stupid enough to attempt to trade with quintana on the inside like he did in the first fight!

too noobs that never saw mitchell a lieghtweight. and paul was far from impressive in that fight. that was the blue print for beating williams that CQ probally used even though mitchell lost he exposed what could be done against PAUL . as he had no business hitting him with what he connected with watch the fight :-(
