Are fighters in smaller divisions at greater physical risk?

    That will not keep fighters from cutting weight.

    To weight in right before the fight is a really bad idea, not only for the risk of injury but also, what happens if someone is not making weight??

    Yes, plus what happens if they don’t make weight? A lot of fights would be canceled because it wouldn’t be any time to cut the weight.

    ONE FC (mma org) have a system similar to that, it’s not great and some champions have lost their titles on the scale because of it (they made weight but didn’t rehydrate the right way) so even that they won the fight they still lost their title.
