They are both through to the semis regardless,but its a world title fight which is obviously huge and neither will want to go 0-2..

What if Ward gets KO'd by Bika?

 

Ward will finish 1st or 2nd with 6pts
Glenn Johnson will finish 3rd or 4th with 3pts
Arthur Abraham can finish 1st with 6pts or 2nd with 5pts or 3rd with 3pts
Carl Froch can finish 4th with 2 pts or 2nd with 4 or 5 pts.

In the semis I expect it to be :

Ward (1) vs Johnson (4)
Froch (2) vs Abraham (3) "rematch"

Abraham has 3 points.

Johnson has 3 points.

Froch has 2 points.

So, if Abraham wins the seeding goes:

Ward (#1, 6 points) vs. Froch (#4, 2 points)
Abraham (#2, 5 or 6 points depending on method of victory over Froch) vs. Johnson (#3, 3 points).

If Froch wins, then it goes:

Ward (#1, 6 points) vs. Johnson (#4, 3 points)
Froch (#2, 4 or 5 points depending on method of victory over Abraham) vs. Abraham (#3, 3 points) in an immediate rematch

The reason Johnson seeds below Abraham in the second scenario despite having the same number of points is that Abraham has been in the tournament from the opening round whereas Johnson only had to fight once. It seems fair here in the case of a tie to give the nod to the person who's been in it all the way.

The reason Ward seeds higher than Abraham in the 1st scenario (in the event that Abraham knocks Froch out and nets another 3 points, matching Ward's 6) is that Ward is undefeated in the tournament while Abraham has the DQ loss.

For the purposes of the tournament Dirrell officially "forfeited"...which is considered a win for Ward even though they never set foot in the ring.
