Are Froch and Abraham both guaranteed to be through to the semis?

Ya figured they were gonna do something like that....it makes sense...but I'm not too stoked about him having the tie break too. What happen's the winner of Froch Abraham ****s the other guy up soo bad that he doesn't want any piece of the other in a rematch? Cause thats a very real posibility.

WTF are you talking about? :huh

Everyone hopes that the Super Six winner is going to immediately face Bute in their next match...but it won't be the "Finale" of anything...it will be its own separate standalone fight. Bute is not and at no point will be involved in the Super Six. His recent signing with Showtime, however, is cause for optimism that he will in fact meet the tournament winner.

If that happened, it would mean a tournament that has already taken some insane punishment and hung on would finally be KTFO.

Wow, I'm not sure which fight I'd want to see more....Glen Johnson vs. Abraham or Froch vs. Johnson.

You could actually see both. If the seeding works out that Abraham fights Johnson in the semi-finals, and Abraham wins (while Ward beats Froch in the other semi-final) Showtime could easily market a "runners-up" match for third place in the tournament between the semi-final losers (Johnson and Froch). They could even televise it on the undercard of the final between Abraham and Ward.

What I'm saying is that Bute is the one that will be waiting for the winner of the Super Six tournament and i hope it will be Ward or Froch

Then the winner of Super Six vs Bute will be the Undisputed Super Middleweight regardless of the bull**** belts, and we will finally get a number one guy in this division A.K.A Calzaghe a few years back.

In that sense, yes. It won't be called a "Finale", though.

The finale of the super six will crown the tournament champion, who will rightfully receive recognition as a top dog and at least as being in the top two at 168.

You're right of course that Bute vs. that person would establish a clear #1 and be the best thing for the sport.

I could see a dq or an injury ending the fight. Pigs will fly out of Bika's ass on national television before he scores a legit KO on Ward.

Froch will be done as a top level fighter after honest Abe exposes him. Getting slapped around by a two hundred year old Jamaican will be his last act as an athlete.

    Dirrell is no wanker.

That would take at least a modicum of testosterene.

And that would require at a minimum, a small set of balls.

So far, there is no evidence of that.

With regards to the Johnson - Abraham tie break, it's a little more complex.

If both fighters end up on 3 points, Showtime will calculate who has won the most rounds/has the highest scorecard total over the 3 group stage fights. As Johnson's only fought once, he'll take Kessler's scorecards from the first 2 fights, but not his 2 group stage points for beating Froch.

I've probably explained that in a right cack-handed manner, but the Suoer Six tiebreakers are on one of Dan Rafael's blogs, that's where I picked it up from.

Then whoever doesn't want to fight will forfeit and the other guy will advance... it's really not that hard to figure out.

That all makes sense except Johnson inheriting Kessler's scorecards. :blood

how is it fair that Ward has 6 points? He scored a technical decision to earn 2 against Kessler and a unanimous decision to earn 2 against Green. Has he automatically been gifted 2 for the Dirrell Debacle? Simple answer... Yes. The tournament has been tailored to him in a sense and I don't blame them. I'm a brit but I love the guys style. Fast, Skillful and most of the time exciting (many more attributes). Even a tournament like this has become corrupt. He has been given the extra points to guarantee that he and either Froch or Abraham (the other original entrants) shall meet in the final. It kind of protects the tournament's integrity but at the same time exposes it's frailties.
