Are Froch and Abraham both guaranteed to be through to the semis?

It's like that in most tournaments, no ? I played in a hockey tournament this summer and one of the teams didn't showed up. We got 2 points without playing.

I can see where you're coming from, but I wouldn't agree with the 'corrupt' call. You can't penalise Ward because Dirrell didn't want to fight, had Ward not been awarded anything for the forfeit/walkover, he might not have finished as top seed for the semi-final stage through no fault of his own. Love him or hate him, he's been far and away the best/most consistent fighter over the first 2 stages.

Will wards semi be in his backyard or will he finally be asked to travel if he has to take on Abraham/Froch

I guess you missed the rules explianed by the organizers. It`s fair to give the tie to Abraham in case of tie with Johnson but from where do you get the DQ rule???

If Abraham KO`s Froch HE`LL BE NO. 1 CAUSE OF THE THE TWO KO`S.And even one would have been enough in case of tie.

He is right. Abraham can still be seeded #1

So... If Froch wins, he'll be 2nd and most likely face Abraham in 3rd.

If Abraham wins by KO, it'll be a Froch - Abraham semi too (4th vs 1st)

In the case of a Froch win, I guess it depends on whether it's a KO or tight points win. If he KO's Abe, AA will most likely end up 4th and have to face Ward, a match I think he'd have no chance of winning.

Bollocks, that might be the american mentality of the cheating duo of ward and direll, but carl froch doesn't want to avoid anyone, nor does abraham I doubt.

Ward will find an excuse to cry out of fighting either because he's a cheating little *****.

I checked and Johnson, inheriting Kessler's rounds, has now 42 scorecard point (he "won" 42 rounds on the 3 judges cards), whereas Abraham has 31. I dont think Abraham will win all the 12 rounds against Froch, so if Abraham loses, we will see Ward-Abraham and Froch-Johnson, while if Froch loses, we will have Abraham-Johnson and Ward-Froch.

Both Abraham-Johnson and Froch-Johnson will be helluva fights. Go Road Warrior, no mercy :bbb

    How exactly is that?

If Abraham knocks out Froch, he'll have six points. How exactly do you justify seeding him #1 if having six points ties him with Ward?

My assumption was that the undefeated fighter would get the nod in a tie. According to the rules linked by FatherTed, they would look at the scorecards to break a tie (so if Ward won more rounds in the Group Stage than Abraham - which he probably will have - he would seed #1).

How do you know Johnson inherits Kessler rounds? Source?

If Abraham wins by KO against Froch: He is seeded at number 1. He faces Froch who is 4th.

If Abraham wins by desicion against Froch: He is seeded at number 2. He faces Johnson who is 3th.

If Abraham draws against Froch: He is seeded at number 2. He faces Johnson who is 3th.

If Abraham loses against Froch: He is seeded at number 3. He faces Froch who is 2th.

    That how it goes.

Where do you get that? 6 points would tie him with Ward. How does that automatically seed Arthur #1?

If their is a tie, they look on the numbers of KO first. Ward got 6 points but he didn't get any KO. Abraham got 6 points and he has 2 KO. Therefore, Abraham is first because he has 2 KO and Ward 0.

If the KO are tied too, then they look at the numbers of round won.
