Both top operators but not quite elite fighters.

Both struggle with quicker slicker operators.

Both very dedicated and get the maximum out of their abilities.

    Both have granite/very good chins.

Both really good 12 round fighters.

The only possible difference is that Froch has more power at his weight than what Burns has at his.

Can people see the similarities or is Froch miles ahead of Burns in terms of ability and stature in their respective divisions?

Yeah but where are they in terms of how many TV viewers they attract? That's the real question that needs to be asked

Disagree, think froch is elite and burns is unproven at elite level.

Froch has only lost twice, once to a borderline ATG and once in a close decision.

Burns has won every world title fight he's been in.

Carl Froch has fought elite level operators. Ricky Burns has not.

    No comparison to make whatsoever.

Have to agree with this. Froch has taken on the very best in his division which sadly Burns hasn't as of yet. He's flirted with the B and C level guys for a long time now. Fringe world class fighters and some who are world class but at the bottom of that level.

Froch is a couple of levels above Ricky. Froch is proven and elite, he only got outclassed by Ward who outclasses everyone.

Ricky needs to get a big win at elite level to ge the same recognition.

Someone as limited as Arthur Abraham, who Froch schooled, is streets ahead of anyone Burns has beat.

Why are people throwing around 'elite' here? For me Ward is the elite fighter in the super-middleweight division, there's no one else on his level. Froch fought him and lost. Comprehensively.

Froch is a very good world class fighter. Burns fights in a poor division that doesn't have a stand out elite fighter. Some would say Broner is but he's a) moving up and b) not proven enough yet.

In terms of where they are in their weight classes then yeah, Froch and Burns are at a similar level. However, Froch has had it tougher to get to where he is at SMW than Burns has at LW. Froch is a level above Burns (but not elite).

Most certainly not Burns has not fought or beaten the best guys in his division,Froch has.

The verdict is still out on Burns,I don't think his title run is going to last too much longer.

Froch is a level above Burns at this juncture, considering who they've been in with and their performances at that level.

Froch wouldn't have taken 7 rounds to get rid of a Laryea level fighter. He wasted Mack early who was a way better and stronger opponent.

Froch is a level above Burns, he has fought the best in his division, Burns has not simple.
