If Burns gets in the ring with Vasquez and Abril then a comparison can be made.

Froch will always be a class above Ricky IMO.

At the present time due to the level of fighter Froch has been in with you would have to put Froch ahead. However the only true judgement can be made when both have hung up the gloves and by that time I would not rule out Ricky surpassing Froch. Im a Froch fan but he is not elite and certainly not currently a top ten P4P, but that may change.

exactly right, and Froch will always try to fight the best, i dont think Burns will. i think it will be back to a few push overs for Ricky

    That's debatable.

i disagree. any fighter thats pushing his way onto the p4p top ten is elite in my book. arguing semantics about the word 'elite' seems a little pointless. for me froch is at the very very top of the sport, the definition of 'elite'.

I'm sure plenty will argue that he is but P4P is pretty subjective as we know but IMO he is not top 10 at the present time but those that feel he is have a pretty decent case

i like burns pleased he got the win the other night but Froch is a level above (no disgrace in that either).

Both fall short of being the number 1 in the division and in burns case he might not even be number 2

Froch is the third best Supermiddle in boxing behind Kessler and the number 1 Ward.

I would place Burns as the 5th best Lightweight behind Terrence Crawford, Vasquez, Abril and the number 1 Gamboa. I would say though that if he fought the likes of DeMarco, Shafikov, Molina and Beltran would all be 50-50 fights for him.

Things will changes on May 25th though as KESSLER will knockout and retire Froch, i'm absolutely sure of that even though i've admired what Froch has accomplished over the years.

It certainly is not debatable. If he beats Kessler then possibly but at the moment no.

Kessler would have been considered elite by many people when they first fought.

Don't be so stupid to look at it from the point of view now. Look back when the fights were relevant.

Andre Ward isn't the only elite fighter Carl Froch has faced.

If you go even further back, Jean Pascal would have been considered elite when they fought aswell.

Carl, whilst not being the most skilled of fighters. He is one TOUGH son of a gun, and a decent boxer in his own right. He has fought TOP LEVEL opposition consistently, Ricky Burns aint even had a Jean Pascal sort of fight yet at Lightweight, never mind an Andre Ward type of fight.

Utterly ridiculous to try and compare the two, and not even the hardest of Ricky Burns fans can deny it. I'm not saying Ricky CANT have those fights, I'm saying at this moment in time, to compare the two is laughable.
