The top boxers should fight each other more often and we wouldn't have to ask that question. Remember when......insert rant about the good old days here........

No, they’re not. Outboxing the stiff bodybuilder who doesn’t fight tall or know how to brawl is good no doubt, but it doesn’t make usyk anywhere near the standout best. And even then those fights were very close. Usyk is a total feather fist, was bothered/looking fragile by Chisora/AJ’s light pressure and seems physically weak in the ring, so no doubt a big puncher will walk him down and ice him ala Byrd Ibeabuchi. Zhang and Wilder are safe bets, he was bothered by AJ’s counters and Chisora’s swings, then much faster harder punchers spell trouble. I’d be stunned if Usyk fights either of those 2 tbh. I don’t blame him per se, they’re a genuine mix of supreme power and speed. Wilder’s power is chilling and you can feel the head trauma when Zhang throws. I think it’s telling that despite being as natural 220lb guy, Usyk has not chosen to be a career heavy, something just doesn’t add up there.

By that logic, Usyk is 3x the fighter Fury is, then... So what's the point in them fighting?

Or maybe that's just an incredibly dumb thing to even think, nevermind post.

The current worthy contenders who deserve a shot are Joyce, Zhang & Hurgovic.

Tyson Fury & Usyk can beat all of them

All three of these men can KO Usyk but Usyk is the boxing favourite as is Fury the boxing favourite but can survive the shots that would KO Usyk.

Fury trying to be a titan kronk fighter like he did Wilder against these 3 poses problems, pure boxer Fury can easily outpoint them though but that version of Fury is slowly slipping away.

Both Fury & Usyk won't go near them men...because why would they? Huge risk no reward. And both Fury & Usyk are at retirements door.

It's hard to tell where to start...

It's interesting that a perceived lack of punching power is one of the headline critiques of Usyk, but that doesn't seem to have disqualified him in the same way (despite being famously genuinely featherfisted).

It's also interesting that you think that Wilder, who can't throw anything hard without telegraphing so hard that he might as well give a warning a whole round earlier, is supposed to have any chance of blowing out a fighter with one of the best ring IQ's in any division currently and has the reflexes to do something about it...
To say nothing of the fact that, unlike Wilder, Joshua actually has a variety of shots that hold genuine power...
Oh, and that Joshua has actually beaten some real contenders, unlike Wilder who's best win by some way is old Ortiz, who's beaten nobody special (Jennings is his best, but Jennings biggest achievement is losing a wide UD to Wlad ).

Zhang looks impressive, I'll grant you, but (just like Wilder) it's easy to look impressive when you're fighting guys who are unproven at the top levels - and those guys being overhyped (Joyce and Ortiz, especially) makes plenty of fans believe their pet favourite is a lot more special than they're proven to be.

    Usyk is clearly #1.
Joshua and Fury come next, then there's a big gap to the rest... The question is whether Fury's as finished as he looked against Ngannou and whether AJ's as ruined as popular opinion would have you believe - but as they almost certainly won't wind up fighting, we'll never know for sure.

Wilder might be more special than his pathetic resume shows, but as he's always been a coward when it comes to matchmaking (ducking Joshua, Whyte, Povetkin, etc) we'll never know whether he was actually good.. or whether he was ducking because he knows he's ****.

If either of them fought 3x a year against top 10 level guys exclusively they'd have losses by now. That might not necessarily mean they arent the best overall, but they would for sure run into bad stylistic match ups at times and come unstuck.

Don't mention Fury's name when talking about Usyk...

Ngannou in a single 10 round fight exposed Fury, Wilder and the WBC as complete fraudsters... conning the public for years

There is a reason why Wilder and Fury never challenged for any other belt while holding the WBC, also why they never defended it against the top contenders. Even calling Fury a "Special" Champion to allow him to cherrypick easy fights, the "We Be Crooks" organization is about as legit as WWE at this point.

Usyk obviously is and Belly should be 3-0 against the supposed #3 HW in the world who the trolls are hyping up in the backyard of the supposed #3 HW. And he beat Wlad albeit an aged a well past prime version of him which is still a way way better win than anything The Dosser has on his CV

We can all play the discredit a fighter's resume game, and I can play it as well as anyone, but the last people on the planet who should be playing it are The Dosser's fans :risas3::facepalm:

And neither of the Usyk vs AJ fights were close. Usyk was wide winner. Just because a couple of corrupt judges say otherwise doesn't make it so

Is Crawford the best welterweight on the planet? I think Super Boots knock his ass out and I believe Crawford fears he would too

Of the top HW contenders and prospects

Hrgovic arguably lost to Big Bang and many feel he did and he hasn't really fought anyone else world level

Big Bang went life and death with Jerry Forrest and arguably lost to ''hype job'' Hrgovic who was mourning the loss of his beloved father

Jalolov hasn't fought anyone and he doesn't like or react well to getting hit

Makhmudov hasn't fought anyone world level

Frank Sanchez seems like he might suffer from Cuban glass syndrome

Bakole got stopped by Usyk victim Hunter

Jared Anderson was hurt numerous times against Charles Martin who is not even considered one of AJ's better wins. Other than that Anderson hasn't really fought anyone world level

So what are we even talking about?

True, but the regime in Beijing is extremely nationalistic--see the importance they attach to international sports, for instance--and would undoubtedly capitalize on the propaganda value of a Chinese heavyweight champion.

Usyk & Zhang are by far the top HWs. Which has been proven.

Fury is somewhere in the top 5>10. His last performance has him around the Joseph Parker level. Joyce would have beat him in the weekend and there are 5+ heavies that would beat Joyce.

That should be the third option in the poll. There no need for a fourth.

Lol. I don't think that poster really thought through the implications of what he was saying. Still, can't expect much from a Fury fanboy.

Funny thing is, Usyk probably is around three times the fighter Fury is, without hyperbole.
