A guy with all the advantages u could want went 12 rounds with Matthew Hatton who by some is derided as not the best fighter in his weightclass in britain is levels above Rhodes i have trouble beliving that.... I thik its a fairly even fight against an experinced veteran with a good dig and the up and coming kid with size and power

Im hoping Ryan rips the overhyped kid a new one but he will be up against it... Still when he lands on Canelo there will be some pop behind them not someone like hatton or baldomir who have never been punchers

Marquez doesnt care who he fights at what ever weight division he fights them , he wants the type of paydays that he beleives his skills deserve , the type of payday Golden Boy havent been providing , according to him !!

This is a counter offer to Top Ranks $5M + PPV percentage for Pacquiao , and it states in his contract that GB would have to make him an offer @147 that betters his previous offer , therefore they have selected Alvarez @147 and matched TR's offer of Pacquiao @147 plus the above as his purse .

This is not Golden Boy sending Marquez to slaughter , in fact probably the opposite , They are trying to give Marquez another option to keep him under the GB banner , Marquez Alvarez @147 if you ask me Marquez takes a fairly comfortable win

Well my point wasnt about Golden leading Marquez to slaughter, as i think he`ll School Alvarez. My point was Golden Boy looking past Rhodes.

I'm not sold on Alvarez. I think the kid can fight, but i don't get the impression i'm watching someone special.

Rhodes has got the ability to give Alvarez real problems in my opinion, he will be a lot bigger than anyone that alvarez has ever fought before, and he has good experiance too, but in my opinion he is going to really be up against it, the ref, judges and crowd will be against him, so he needs the KO.

I for one will be cheering him on to do it.

Would be funny as **** if Rhodes derailed their plans by sticking Canelo on his arse in this fight.

I think he's got a very good chance of pulling the job off, he's bigger, faster, harder hitting.... just plain better than Matthew Hatton. At the very least Alvarez should have got him out of there..... the size difference was huge.

Even if Alvarez wins this he won't be ready until October which would leave a year (as good as) since Marquez last fought. It's a ridiculous proposition from them in all honesty.

If i remember didn't Rhodes almost have Locket out on his feet in the last round could be wrong though, no disrespect to Hatton but if he can take Alvarez 12 rounds then i think Rhodes has an excellent chance, never really rated Alvarez :bbb

This fight is screaming a Rhodes win away from home. I watched Saul Canelo Alvarez against Hatton and thought what an average fighter he looked. There was no spark at all with him, even when he was supposed to shine and shine big. Seriously, if Rhodes has anything left and if he is mentally prepared to give it a go, I can see him knocking out Alvarez or winning big on points after a few knockdowns. :good

Rhodes has been way to inactive to win this, I think he gets beat comfortably.

Alverez doesnt have any defence,if his chin is good he might do ok in his career, but if someone with good enough power and speed catches him,he might just be exposed easily.

I reckon rhodes could wobble alverez and stop him,if he doesnt and does outbox alverez he will get robbed,i guess someone needs to get at alverez but not allow alverez to land to many hard combinations on them.
