I only ever 'met' Brian once, when I was about 9-10 years old and I got his autograph after the match at Villa Park. Still got it somewhere, he wrote "be a good boy for your mam and dad, love Brian Clough"

I always thought it was just for me until I was about 27 and met another Villa fan who'd got his autograph around the same time, and he'd written exactly the same thing :rofl

As for Nigel I met him after we beat Liverpool 2-1 at the end of the season, might have been 94-95 but not positive on that. Anyway we were walking back from the Holte to where we'd parked the car and noticed that a bloke looking suspiciously like Nigel was walking right behind us in a Liverpool tracksuit so my mate turned round and said "erm, excuse me mate aren't you Nigel Clough?" (original eh?) and he quietly said "yeah" and that was it. Always seemed strange to me that immediately after the game he ****ed off and never travelled with the team coach (he was a sub that day)

Thinking about it, he must have travelled to the match separately too....think he was treated pretty badly by the scousers.

he had a **** time at liverpool i always thought he was a decent player and ended up making a big mistake signing with the scousers.
Clough always recognised me and my mate as my mate was a big notts forest fan and is about 6'8 so he just used to call him bag lad.:D
